Tia is from Elcid, the same place that Maxim is from. They know each other very well. When Maxim leaves on his big adventure, she trails along after him. They join up and are together in battle for the beginning portion of the quest. After Gades has been defeated, and Maxim and Selan are together, Tia runs off, never to see Maxim again.
