What is Pokémon?Well,Pokémon (poh-kay-mon) stands for Pocket Monsters,which is what they call it in Japan,where it origanitated from,are of corse,monsters.There origanly were two different Pokémon game paks,the Red and Blue versions.Each version had a different veriaty of Pokémon.One verion might have a Pokémon that the other could never find!And since you had to catch all 150 of these Pokémon,this caused a problem for Pokémon Trainers.So,you had to trade between each version to get more Pokémon.This made it even more fun!
What is a Pokémon Trainer?Pokémon Trainers go around the "world" to find,catch,train and discover all 150 Pokémon.But to do so,they will have to get a Starter Pokémon,in Pallet Town.After they have their own Pokémon,Pokémon Trainers try to catch more with PokéBalls.After fighting other Pokémon Trainers,their own Pokémon will evolve into new Pokémon!
What is a PokéBall?PokéBalls are used for catching wild Pokémon.To catch a wild Pokémon,a Pokémon Trainer would have to use his or her own Pokémon to get the wild one really weak.Once it's close to fainting,he or she should use a PokéBall.If the PokéBall catches the wild Pokémon,it becomes a part of the Pokémon Trainer's collection of Pokémon!
How do Pokémon evolve?Pokémon will evolve into new Pokémon if they fight a lot and gained new levels.After beating a Pokémon,it will tell you how much experience (EXP.) your Pokémon got.If you go to the menu and look at your Pokémon's stats,it will tell you how much more EXP. it needs to gain a level.If your Pokémon gains enough levels,it will evolve!Like Charmander to the right.If it goes to level 16,it can evolve into Charmeleon.And Charmeleon can evolve into Charizard if it grows to level 36!But,some Pokémon don't evolve by levels,but stones!One example,like Pikachu,(The yellow Pokémon at the top of the page.) can't evolve unless you use the Thunder Stone on him.There are a total of five different stones which only work on some Pokémon.But then again,some Pokémon don't evolve at all.
How do you make Pokémon faint?Using your own Pokémon,you battle others to make the other Pokémon faint.To fight,you will select "FIGHT" then tell your Pokémon to do an attack.With every attack,the oposing Pokémon's energy goes down.But be careful!The same can happen to your Pokémon!If all the oposing Pokémon's energy is gone,then it faints,and you win against the Pokémon!But be careful,some attacks don't do damage to the oposing Pokémon,but they still can help you.
Anything else I should know?Yes.Pokémon Trainers must go around the "world" collecting badges from Gym Leaders.Gym Leaders have very strong Pokémon.For every Gym Leader you beat,you get a badge.After getting all eight badges,you can go to Indigloo Platue,where you fight the Elite 4.But be carfeul,they are the world's strongest Pokémon Masters.Pokémon Masters are Pokémon Trainers who have gotten all 150 Pokémon and have the strongest Pokémon.
