The Wheel of Time
Robert Jordan's Modern Masterpiece

The Wheel of Time. Seven volumes, 4625 hardcover pages, 5193 softcover pages (so far). Quite simply the greatest fantasy story of this time. Two friends of mine introduced me to this series a couple of years back, and (despite their frankly bad description of the storyline) I have been obsessed with the series ever since. Jordan had released five books by that point and the two month wait for volume six almost drove me nuts. Now I've had to wait for more than a year and a half for volume seven, and I am so very glad that it finally arrived. It was excellent.

Anyway, The Wheel of Time (The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising, The Fires of Heaven, Lord of Chaos, & A Crown of Swords). The storyline of this series is far too long and complex to try to explain here, but what I can tell you is that Robert Jordan is a writer of extreme talent. The relationships between the characters in this series, the characters themselves, and the conflicts that occur are incredibly well-written and compelling.

I will be using this space mainly to discuss my thoughts, theories, and predictions for the series. I have just begun to re-read The Eye of the World (for the third time) and will be adding things to this page as I go. If you wish to debate any of my theories, my E-mail address is at the bottom of the page (go on, I dare you). But first up let's take a look at some stuff I've cobbled together for your benefit and mine.

I'm in the process of putting together a comprehensive reference guide to the Wheel of Time, and although it is not nearly finished yet I've decided to post what I have. Just click on the big sign to go to the main page of:

Now, back to my stuff:

**Warning: This page is under perpetual construction**

Now to the theories:

Scale:***** A truth not yet revealed, **** Extremely Likely, *** Likely to be true, ** Stretching, * Loony Pet Theory.

**** There is another method of Travelling that does not require the use of Gateways. It was used by Ishamael and Lews Therin in the prologue to TEOTW and by Rand just before his battle with Ba'alzamon at the end of TEOTW. All these times the people involved are said to have Travelled, but there is no mention of them creating or walking through gateways.
