Rhode Island Reds are a newer breed from around well, Rhode Island. They were first bred in 1914. Usually used for egg production, this breed is mostly well, red. The eggs are red, the feathers are red. Oh and the feet are yellow not red. Ours lay very well near everyday(of course all our chickens do!). Although, they do not tend to be broody. They probably wouldn't be good mothers anyway since their bodies are slim and their feathers are tight.
