The anime version of Rayearth started on October 17th 94 on Yomiuri TV. It had 20 episodes, 2 specials: one on 10th episode 'Magic Knight Saidai no Kiki' and another on 19th episode 'Kessen! Magic Knights VS Zagato' It was supervisioned by CLAMP from the 14th episode of the 1st part - 'Hikaru, Umi, Fuu no Yuzurenai Negai' It ended in March 13th 1995
The second part of Rayearth, named Rayearth 2 started on Nakayoshi a few after the end of the first part, in March 1995. It had also 12 episodes and ended in April 1996
The anime for Rayearth 2, due to its success, had some additions on the original timeline for the manga, and other characters were also added in order to make the story longer. It had 29 episodes and started right after the end of the 1st series. The series ended on November 27th 1995, but there was a special program on December 16th 1995, that reviewed the whole series.
There were released many other stuff than videos, LDs or CDs. This includes various toys like puzzles, dolls and Mokonas, and little stuff like keychains, pins, and others. Many stuff for computer was released, like a screensaver (which I had the chance to have it, but I was with no money T_T)... and many books, which has CLAMP illustrations and info on the anime.
Of course, there were released many video game catridges, for Sega Saturn, Super Famicon, Game Boy and Game Gear. Many informations about those ones on the story section.
CLAMP's members are:
Nanase Ohkawa | The 'leader' of CLAMP. She writes the original stories, scripts and design |
Satsuki Igarashi | She is the art assistant, and works on designs and development |
Apapa Mokona | The artists. Mokona and Nekoi are the one who draws all the characters, the scenarios, the mechas, etc, etc, etc... Although Mokona didn't the Chara design for the Anime (but Ishida Atsuko's is great too), she did the Character Design for Anime RG Veda. Nekoi's style is a little different from Mokona's a well as she draws the SD Characters for Rayearth Manga and other works, like Clover and Card Captor Sakura |
Mick Nekoi |
