DAP MPs

For more than three decades, the DAP became the voice of the people against injustice, inequality, corruption and abuses of power and the symbol for the battle for a multi-racial, multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-religious Malaysia.

For being the voice of the people, many DAP Members of Parliament (MPs) had paid a heavy price in terms of detention without trial under the Internal Security Act, loss of political rights or other forms of persecution.

Despite these and other “unparliamentary” terrain under which DAP MPs have to operate, the DAP had successfully conducted a “holding operation” in the past three decades to prevent nation-building policies from being taken to extremes to reach a point of no return, where there would be no conditions for the “minor liberalisation” of nation-building policies in the past few years.

The stage is set for the next goal of the DAP in Parliament - to strive for Full Liberalisation and Democratisation of Malaysia.
