MONTHLY DIARY
May 20, 2001 I dun know whether I am making the right choice. Since I was promoted to Assistant Manager of the new merged exchange, the workload has since tripled. And yet my CFA level II exam is just 13 days away. Can I balance the situation or just burn out by this. I hope I can handle both. This would be a huge once in a lifetime challenge. If I can proof myself, I will not only get a good grid in my career, I would also taste success in my relationship. Why is that? Once I completed all CFA levels next year, and get my trust from my boss, I can start thinking about getting married: Make love legally!!! Not seeing rejection all the time from my girl girl. I AM COMMITTED! |
April 3, 2001 YES YES. I have resigned and I came back! It was a simple decision! Promotion and pay raise? No. the most important thing is that I still have faith in the Malaysian derivatives industry. In addition to that is that, we have a new leader to lead the industry! Our new Chief Operating Officer Dr. Zaha Rina Zahari. Her targets are simple: (1) Restructured and merged the two exchanges namely KLOFFE and COMMEX; (2) Wanting the "brain power" instead of quantities. (3) After 1 and 2, extensively marketing and promotion efforts to spur the demand of the industry and lastly; (4) Launch more products! For me, I hope I can 200% support her and bet for a fruitful result. GOD BLESS! |
March 2, 2001 CFA level II preparation work is really squeezing my workload to the maximum. I think I spent about 20 hours a day (8 hours of working in office, 2 hours of travelling through and flow to work, 2 hours of meals and EIGHT BIG LABOR HOURS OF PREP WORK!) which means I have only 4 hours of sleep a day (2am-6am). This is to ensure that I pass the level 2 since I've failed the previous sitting. On my mind, it's a do or die situation!!! NO REGRETS! I've stopped golf, basketball and even sex for this 4 months of preparation. I hope that it's worth while and I'll be able to excel in my weak EVA, MVA, OAS area. I also hope I won't get ill midway of my study mood. Let's keep our finger cross. Wait a minute, I dun believe in LUCK! |
July 30, 2000 The Asian regional stock markets took a tumble last week as both Nasdaq and Dow dipped to critical level when the US growth rate accelerated at an unexpected percentage. South Korea market took the heaviest beating as the down trend started with 2% capital gain tax implemented in July. Other market suffered as well as most "tech counters" affected by the Nasdaq movement. Technically, the down trend is in tact but oversold. I think for retailers like us, it's time to leave the stock market as it's heading sideways. Next month would be an interesting month to see.......anyway, I am still down with flu at the moment as the weather is still kinda bad with haze .....I hate that coz' my nose is very sensitive with dirty stuff. |
July 22, 2000 Haze is kinda bad here in Malaysia. Finally back since two years ago. I personally think that Haze can be preventable if and only if leaders of the ASEAN countries would sit down and implement some kind of policies to prevent this from happening again. But then, we are NOT learning from past experience. Shame, shame! This haze might cost us a successful bid in the Asian Games 2006. I think there are some other stronger competitors eyeing this as a reason of getting their bid. By then I dun know when Malaysia would ever host Olympic Games, or World Cup standard kind of games. This haze has made me kinda sick with flu....coughing.... and sore eyes....That's is why Ipoh presentation is not as successful as before....The only thing that I enjoy was the food there and of course, thanks to friends that brought me here and there....hanging out...while sick=) |
July 17, 2000 GOLF is today's topic. I am trying to pick up golf game now as it is known as the "Game of Loving Families". All ages can enjoy this game no matter ya a kid or being a grandparent. I started taking lessons from a Malaysian PGA since end of June. Unfortunately, I am still having hard time with my accuracy on the swing. Anyone can help, please email me. The thing that caught my mind about golf is that everytime PGA tournaments shown on ESPN or STAR Sports, those professionals always fascinate me as in like putting the ball into the difficult hole so easily which I couldn't imagine. I give myself three years to achieve 15 handicapper.Hope I am not asking too much.So now, golf is my top priority and basketball is my second choice. Anyway, I'll update you about the two basketball tournaments to be taking place this coming August. |
June 18, 2000 Last Thursday was my birthday and as usual...I've taken leave for a trip to Taman Negara. This is to reward myself of studying hard for the CFA exam. I hope I can past the exam though the exam is harder than I expected. Let's touch wood and keep our finger cross. Now, Taman Negara is one of the visiting places that you couldn't miss if you travel to Malaysia....it's all about natural forest.....fresh environment that you can't enjoy elsewhere. We went camping and it's really fun eventhough being bordered by leeches....(hmmm...those leeches really suck you up!) I realized that most travellers were foreigners...mostly from the Europe countries. I thought they should be enjoying Euro 2000 at home but then coming to this undisturbed natural Tropical forest. The trip was full of excitement as well coz' we've to pass some jungle untamed roas before reaching the destination. I'll publish some photos later on but at the moment..I'll stop here coz' I am exhausted after LEECHES attack!!! |
May 5, 2000 With the consolidation of the capital market taking place in Malaysia, it is important to note that there might be a surplus in the supply of financial/investment experts in the market. Hence, I would think that more Volumtary Separation Schemes (VSSs) will be announced for local financial institutions in 1 to 2 years time. This , in effect might have 2 possible impacts in the financial sector's labor market. First, an outflow of local talents to neighboring countries such as Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, and US. Secondly, a stagnent wage for entry level or top level positions in the financial sector. There will be quite a bit of the ex-employees of bank, brokerage firms, insurance firms, hovering on the streets without a job or JUMPING into the DOT COM wagon. This is the difference between the bad and the good because VSS doesn't really judge and segregate the two categories of employees...............hope I am right. |
April 28, 2000 I am very buzy at the moment with my workload, studies (CFA level 2 exam coming up) after three days break to Tioman Island. It isn't that spectacular anymore in Tioman Island. The last time I went there was like 1992 and it was so natural. Now, it's a bit commercialize and the beach is not as clean as before......alright, back to studies, six Schweser's Notes for Level 2 and will have to finish in less than 14 weeks. Man, I hope I can cope with such pressure. If not, it's just a waste of money and time. I really hope I can pass this level as this level 2 is 10 times harder than level one. The confidence of taking this exam needs to be restored....luck is not a big factor....preparation is the biggest confident. |
February 26, 2000 Happy belated New Year, Chinese New Year, and blah blah blah for the millennium. The YS Fund accomplished a return of 18% in three months which is not impressive to me. We should have done better....should have bought more high beta stocks.....technology stocks. Anyhow, the next round of YS Fund consists of ten fund holder with fund size of RM101,000. So far, it's performance is pretty impressive with 21% return in three weeks. I hope we can reach the target of 30% return and I 'll off load everything in the portfolio. Talking about equity market, the Malaysian market lack genuine DOT COM companies as the KLSE is too strict on the profit track history and other requirement. Shame on us! |
December 27, 1999 First of all, I would like to take such good opportunity to wish every surfer Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The Year 2000 is nothing much special as anticipated. I think Y2K is not a big issue in Malaysia. Christmas Day, went to Mississippi SLIM's (MSLIM) at Jalan Ampang to try on the Bar-B-Que ribs. Environement=AAA rating, Food=AA rating, Service=AAA. I would rate MSLIM 8 out of 10 with such affordabble price in town. ( Disclaimer: I don't own any stake in MSLIM) Try it man! And later that night, went to Allan-KokSiang's place for Szechuan Steamboat gathering. I didn't dare to try the food coz' it looked so spicy.... yesterday, went for seafood at Kuala Selangor.....nice, it's just like food fest holiday.....planning for "buka puasa" buffet next week. =) and my friend Yew have arranged next week for New Year Celebration near KLCC. A group of us will check out the countdown and firecrackers.... Hey, finally done painting my house....it's a long month as I painted my house every weekend....ha... I am a amateur painter now! Outlook of KLSE market remain bullish with midterm breaking 1,000 psychology level (3-5 months) and possible 1,150 index level. |
November 10, 1999 I guess my prediction is WRONG and it seems that more new records were achieved in the US market. But still, investors are expected to be cautious ahead of the Y2K concern. I personally think it's isn't much threat as most of the exchange and brokerage houses are already Y2k complied. Let's see....... Me and my college mate, Yew Nien Chu, recently setup a close-end fund YES FUND to trade the Malaysian market. The objective of the fund is to ride with the uptrend of the KLSE market within the 3 months period. Instruments that we'll use includes equity, derivatives such as warrants, loans such as ICULS, and RULS. Since this is a closed-end fund, the total fund size will not be increased after deadline of sourcing the fund. I personally am confident that the fund will performed well and outperform the KLSE CI. ( This was mentioned early...hahaha..like promoting this fund..................Now the weather in Malaysia is kinda weird, too much rain and turned heaty after the rain. I guess a lot of people got sicked......flu, fever.....stuff like that. I am part of the stats as well. I AM GETTING WEAK EVERYDAY WITH THESE KIND OF WEATHER! Just can't stand it no more! Where are you, SUN? |
November 1, 1999 My friends Yew, Kwong and I started a Fund called YS FUND to participate in the KLSE Stock market. The initial fund size is about RM 35,000 only but I think it would be a good experience in managing funds including managing the risk of investing. We expect that the equity market to go higher after almost 3 months of low activity in the 680-800 level. Our target at the moment is to buy some gaming stocks, possibly B-TOTO, Tanjong, Magnum. Resort World and Genting is a bit too expensive which would suck up a big portion of our fund. Anyhow, the banking sector cannot be left out as well as there are still a lot more good quality counter awaiting for us to invest. These includes AMMB, Commerz, Phileo Allied Bank RHB Capital and SBB. Although Public Bank is good counter to invest, it is however, a low beta stocks which is contradicting with our goal. Our goal is to maximize fund size in THREE months and decide what to do after that. OOpps, I forgot to mention that Tech stock is good as well, like Lityan, Patimas, and soon to be listed Mesiniaga. |
October 17, 1999 Will the Dow Jones break 10,000 mark? My prediction is YES! And I think you'll see further selling pressure. I think US fund managers will take a loss and shift their investments to other regions or those with low correlation with the US markets. Then how about Malaysia? All I could say is that it will be safe sailing with some moderate waves in between. First of all, Malaysia equity market is very low correlated to US market. Second, we are still under the safe umbrella of capital control. Thirdly, lowly pegged Ringgit Malaysia looks attractive which would somehow protect investors from the soon-to-be volatile US dollars. And lastly, the dependency of Malaysia is quite balance with US and other foreign investors. Now, how could Dow Jones fall below 10,000 psychological mark? I think it's purely confidence and expectation. Anyway, Dow Jones is just an old index which 30 component stocks and price weighted. It is best for you to look at the performance of S&P 500. Good luck! By the way, I'm gonna start monitoring Malaysia warrants to see any opportunities pop up! |
October 12, 1999 Our Basketball team finally got some rewards in participating the Selangor Sultan Cup (Division Two) Tournament. We were top of the group with five wins which qualified us to the quarterfinals. Then we defeated our opponent SWOOSH from KL but finally lost in the semifinals to the youngsters. This team is a very young talented Tanjung Karang team. They got promoted to Division I Sultan Cup next year. Good luck to you guys.On the third-fourth placing, we lost to a team which we won them in the group with 12 points margin. Our starters were a bit exhausted with three games in five days. This is the reason why we lost and settled with fourth place in the tournament. Anyhow, this is my first basketball tournament after coming back from the states and I learned lots of stuff in this tournament. Lastly, there are some encouraging statistics which supported my previous (August 20) write ups: We played seven games but we enjoyed ten good seafood dinner!!! |
August 26, 1999 Improved sentiment as a result of positive 4.1% 2QGDP helped investors decide what sectoral stocks we should buy. However, I think this better-than-expected news has been factored in the stock market since early July. Investors are more concern with the September 1st fund outflow issue and the call for National Election. The issue that surprised me was the huge contribution of national growth from the service sector. I think Malaysian should put more effort in this sector as I foresee more growth in this sector. One thing that I need to mention is the customer service of Malaysia Companies (although it might not be relevant to the service sector that contributed to GDP growth). From the scale of 1-10, (1 being the worst and 10 being the best) I would only provide the rating of 3/10. They (Customer service consultants) are basically poor in handling their clients. The 3 points were given due to some exceptional cases that hire brilliant customer service representatives. |
August 20, 1999 The Chong Hwa Old Boys Association (CHOBA) Basketball team finally decided to take part in the Selangor Sultan Cup Group B Tournament. Fortunately, I am part of this team which made up by six players below the age of thirty (which include ME :-) !) and six players above the age of thirty. This is why some competitors like to call us as Old men's team. Anyway, the tournament will start on August 28, 1999 at Kuala Selangor (1.5 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur). The CHOBA took part every year since this tournament started in the early years. Surprisingly is that this year we have the younger age players that join us (include ME again!). Lastly, our purpose of joining this tournament is to play 40% basketball and enjoy 60% Kuala Selangor famous SEAFOOD! Here we come!!! |
July 2, 1999 The futures will test the uncharted 900 level, and I see more smiling face around. On the stock market, record volume was recorded today as it surpass 1.26 billion shares. Wow, I couldn't imagine more and more people are involving in this big pot of scriptless investment. Anyway, I sold quite a number of stocks just to generate some funds for the purpose of purchasing a house. We finally signed the S&P agreement today. I am delighted that we made a wise choice eventhough the stock prices are getting higher everyday. I just think that property is dirt cheap now. It's time to go buy your necessity now if you still dun owned a house. Finally, just a piece of advice for contra players in the stock market:- Take your profit and run, Don't overdo it! You'll get what you give! Good luck! Ciao! |
June 15, 1999 Today is my birthday. Unfortunately, I am not feeling well, gastric pain....just too bad. This is why I am not Medical leave today. Some of my colleagues actually called me asking whether I am pretending to be sicked. As a matter of fact, I am REALLY sick. It happened to me two years ago. June 15 , 1997 was the day that I had dengue fever. This is why I think that birthdays are nothing special to be celebrated. Just take some time off is the best. Just not too happy about my health sometimes. I just think that sometimes I over exposure to sports activities and don't know how to take care myself. I'm glad that I was praised by having a considerate girlfriend. Hmm...I think I talk too much and this short diary provide nothing good but just a bunch of miserable crab ..... |
May 7, 1999 More good news have spurred the uptrend of Asia Pacific equity markets. And for investors, please be careful of this uptrend, look out for corrections and bumps since a lot of stocks are getting expensive nowadays. I don't recommend "contra" players to trade the equity market, you'll see that it will consolidate within the contra period and stock picking is a MUST in contra trading. Instead, "contra" players can start trading on the KLCI Futures contracts that being offered at KLOFFE. This is just a suggestion and make sure you contact any futures broker before you make any move. Currently, I am enjoying my study week at home. Really enjoyable. I hope I could start my market commentary once I've completed my CFA exam. Alright, see ya soon! |
May 2, 1999 We had a Chong Hwa Independent High School Senior Middle Three Science (1) class of 1991 reunion last night at J.W. Marriot Hotel. I think this was the first GRAND reunion we had since 1992. Although I missed 4 reunion gatherings, I find it fascinating to organize such as successful gathering. I saw 33 of my old classmates and I can tell you that most of the ladies in my class had turned into gorgeous chick.Wow, some of my classmates said that they have missed the chance of dating them since they know each other for soooo long. Anyway, the most meaningful moment was Mrs. Tong took her time to join us celebrating this reunion. Thanks Mrs Tong, you should have known that it's our job to make you cry in this meaningful reunion...hehehe! I would take one whole week off since I need to speed up my CFA preparation. |
January 10, 1999 Expected good news has cleared the cloud of uncertainties in the political situation in Malaysia! The "good guy" Tan Sri Abdullah Badawi was named the Deputy Prime Minister and the "miracle" Tun Daim was appointed as Finance Minister. It is a definitely "win-win" situation for equity and futures investors. The political stability has always been the advantage of investing in Malaysia coz' the risk is minimal. After these appointments, this risk will maintain at minimum level. I expect the equity market to surge further with the Infrastructure stocks, "Sin" stocks, and "Malay linked" stocks to be more favourable. Talking about that, hopefully, I'll continue my commentary next week and HOLIDAY is OVER for all of us! Good luck guys, Happy New year! See ya next month! |
January 9, 1999 Holiday mood is OVER! I mean really over.Traffic Jam in Kuala Lumpur is back to normal. More people are on the street.....plotting money making strategies....working as hard as possible to maintain employment.... Just use the traffic flow of KL as an indicator....It just seem like the Malaysian economic flu is finally bounce back to healthy level...Prosperity is finally back!!! Construction contracts are approved and more infrastructure works to be continued to spurr the growth once again. More people are involved in the equity market..... The Asian tiger economies are finally recovering out from the turbulent situation with lower interest rates. Thanks to government budget deficit and decisive fiscal policies that are not favoured by foreign HOT Money! |
December 3, 1998 This is the last month of 1998 and I am currently doing my year end review.....I found out I actually achieved quite a bit in which I am satisfied! Hope you guys had a good year-end review and bonus $$$$$. This would boost spending hence helping to revive the economy condition.Ha Ha ha! Last updates: There will be no increment for all the staff next year! There will be no new employment for us. Increment and new staff recruitment are freezed! It's just too bad but I think it is a very wise choice made by the management and Board of Directors coz' I think the Exchange is moving towards cost efficienct and high productivity standards to meet the challenges in the next tough year! 1999, here we come! |
December 2, 1998 Finally decided to update my homepage and also continue my market commentaries on futures market. Hmm... KLCE (COMMEX) Crude Palm Oil volume has been deteriorating as expected because of the 50 point spread (Tax) imposed by the government. KLOFFE volume is picking up again. I think it's due to the high volume in the cash market. Furthermore, the attitudes of futures traders were a bit different now compared to the way they trade before the capital control. Nowadays, if the cash market surges, the volume would increase which confirm an uptrend. Users are NOT concern about corrections. Hmmm....no comment on that.A sad news for Nebraska football fans as Nebraska only managed to obtain 9-3 results. Not impressive. Ok...let see, what else to update.....nothing much in Malaysia coz' I don't follow Anwar's case, Nalla's case, Tian Chua's case. I just don't like politics and I prefer to have more information in the financial markets. Lastly, November is NOT a lucky month for ME...... |
November 1, 1998 No more NBA? We'll know later.....I am kinda relax lately but I know workloads coming....I'll be taking CFA level1 next year and maybe PhD program for the next 4 years...Anyhow, education level in Malaysia is currently undertaking a step forward to the standards of the developed countries. More and more courses being offered in Malaysia. However, I think our government-run universities are still below expectation. No harm to local grads but I realised that a lot of courses are not offered...for instance, courses on futures, forward, options and swaptions were NOT available at major local universities. These instruments were important as a risk management tool and income enhancement agency but only MARA Institute and International Islamic University offered related courses. Too bad! That's why I wanna to something by taking up PhD program and conduct some research on the related topics. Seem ambitious eh? That's me! WORK HARD and PLAY HARD! |
October 23, 1998 Ha ha ha...taking one week of annual leave seems relaxing and it is! I just got back from Cameron Highland, one of the best relaxing highland I have ever been to. The weather is like early spring with about 15-20 degrees celsius, windy.....hmmm I love it! Equatorial Hill Resort at Kea farm is a good place to stay. Back to working life....The Malaysian budget was annouced early this evening and the budget is all about reviving the economy through government spending and by lowering interest rate to spur the infrastructure and construction sector. However, the losers would be crude palm oil exporters, and sinful companies (gambling, cigarettes, alcohol). I think we will see a 50 point bid-ask spread for Crude Palm Oil futures contract and will be a illiquid contract later on. |
September 28, 1998 Even with the implementation of Designated External Account for foreign derivative traders to freely bring in-out of their funds in Malaysia, they are simply NOT coming back. I think their worry about frequent policy changes that would affect their investment. They decided to stay OUT of Malaysia for sometime. KLOFFE's volume have been plummeting from a high of 11,238 to about 500 a day. Sick man!!! Three years of HARD WORK has been flushed and the thing we could do now is the encourage participation by local institutions such as our pension funds and asset management companies such as Employee's Provident Fund (EPF), PNB and etc. I realised that I haven't been writing weekly commentaries for some time. Hopefully after the Malaysian budget...I'll restart my writing engine! |
September 8, 1998 Shocking Asia?! Malaysia has just imposed Exchange rate-capital control measures (ECM) to curb speculative play by the so-called "Hot-Money". The Malaysian exchange rate is fix at 3.80 ringgit to a dollar. KLOFFE's volume has been skyrocketing to a record daily volume of 11,238. Caused by this shock policy, foreign players were closing their open positions and they rather trade OTC derivatives...I think their concern are they dun want their funds to be trapped here in Malaysia for at least 12 months.I noticed that my COO is getting worried! |
August 31, 1998 Today is the 41st Malaysian National Day. As usual....holiday!!! Yes! I missed last year's holiday where we visited Pedu lake in Kedah. Excellent place for relax and fishing. Talking about that, me and my colleagues went fishing near Tioman Island early this month and the most exciting and exotic is that we are staying at Kelong:- the wooden houses built on top of the sea. Kelong is the place that attract and trap fishes using lights and food. That was the most exciting trip having sea fishing. One hack of an experience. |
July 31, 1998 It is like the good ol' BZ month. However, I did visit one of my best buddy....Simon Kong. Whoa...that guy is still the same...but a bit fat....Ha! He used to be the state basketball player and helped NUMSA got the first Midwest Malaysian games basketball champ.....cool guy. Hmm...get back to work. |
June 1, 1998 June will be always be the best month for me...of course, why? Really wanna know why....HA! Some hint: I'm a GEMINI and hopefully I'll enjoy my b-day....Talking about June, I will never miss NBA Finals this time coz' one of my favorite teams is in the FINAL!!! Enjoy everybody....and stay put! |
May 28, 1998 Man..... this is the busiest month I have ever had! Non stop 24 hours......just a bit overstated but it's true......Anyway, I am a workaholic.......no problem! Recently, the Singapore International Monetary Exchange announced that they will be launching the Dow Jones Global Index - Malaysia Index Futures and Options Contract this coming November.....which gave a shock to us.....especially me. Talking about job security, anyhow, our exchange (KLOFFE) are confident that the threat would not seriously hurt our growth in terms of market as we will seek a way to be in a niche market position. Ha..ha.... I am confident too. Let's not talk about this, I'll talk about hanging out....Last week, I went to ECHO....the best Jazz bar in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur with my friends including a great visitor from Chicago.JOE CORONA.....we had fun! Gotta stop here! |
April 1, 1998 It's April fool.......Yes ! Yes! But the thing that I'm gonna tell you is absolutely 100% accurate. Kuala Lumpur Options and Financial Futures Exchange (KLOFFE) is gonna launch KLCI Option contracts by the end of 2 quarter!!! With this product, KLOFFE will be able to expand further more and of course, hopefully more bonus for me by the end of this year. Talking about KLOFFE, let's begin with CI Futures (FKLI). The volume of FKLI has picked up to about 3,000 to 3,500 contracts recently and Open interest has began to achieve record level of 16,000. This is a good sign for financial sector in Malaysia as KLOFFE provides investors an opportunity to hedge their portfolio, hence minimizing risk! To know more about KLOFFE's market movements, please check out my weekly commentary , it absolutely a good guide before you invest! |
March 23, 1998 Last week was a horrible week for me....I lost $250 on giving money to someone...man....I think I will keep the content from showing to you guys but the point is...in order to have Malaysia achieving vision 2020, everybody need to cooperate...not like me, giving money.... to slow down the process.... in this issue of the diary, I have to soften my tone coz' too much to talk about. Anyhow, it's my fault coz' I was too relax at that time. Hm......one experience I wouldn't forget. Talking about vision 2020, I think the government is doing a good job in getting the economy in the right track. I personally feel that it's always good the buy a selection of stocks at the moment below 740 level. I think I have to stop here, I'm getting tired...see ya soon! |
February 25, 1998 Whoa....I guess I miss a lot of fun stuff during this sweet February. I just miss a lot of things especially money. Can you believe I can forget where I put my money at work? Hooooo....that's ME! Anyhow, I am still in good condition. Yesterday, I started playing basketball after nearly three months of absence. It feels good. But the shootings are poor, need to catch up! At work? Everything's running smooth....still over exposed in Malaysian stock market. I would say the market movement of KLSE indices are quite easy to predict and anticipate. For now, to careful and remember to protect yourself by using futures and options! If anyone need to contact me urgently, you can email me during office hours at mshu@bloomberg.net . |
February 1, 1998 Happy Federal Terr. Day....ha. I am definitely lucky to be in KL. This will be my longest holiday for the day --> 9 days....I will not be around until Friday....I need some rest. However, the Chinese New Year and Hari Raya festive mood is almost gone and I think I need to focus on my work. By the way, Penang is really a good place to visit. The food is excellent there....but a bit too expensive...like KL prices. I took a bowl of noodle soup and it costs me $4 ! Isn't that ridiculous? "too" that man!!! Alright, wish you guys....a happy valentine's day...and for bachelors...happy drinking day on February 14! |
January 2, 1998 Happy New Year everbody! Best wishes.....and dun forget to wish your love ones....I would take this opportunity to wish that the turmoil in Asia would end as soon as possible...hopefully in 1 or 2 years time. And to all my love ones...my dad, mom....everybody, good luck and save some money for rainy days like recession! Sometimes, I feel that the people in Kuala Lumpur still spent like "too" when the economy is in bad shape....can't comment too much coz' I am from KL! Anyway, wish everyone a rich tiger year and for couples out there....get a tiger son/daughter! |
December 13, 1997
|
December 5, 1997 It has been some time I last updated this page.....however, some bad things happened to me...very "too"!...I've dislocated my left ankle while playing basketball.....luckily, one of the famous Chinese Ancient Doctor comforted me with some twist on my left ankle and said it's not serious.....but then gotta take 2 days off from my lovely job and workplace. Later on, I went for an X-ray to confirm whether I am fine! And it's GOOD! My left ankle swells like a big "pau"....but the bones are not affected. It's considered lucky from an unlucky incident! |
November 15, 1997 We just moved to our new office....the settings look good....but my department is still a bit packed.....however, no problem! End of the month, the Malaysia's 2nd Financial Derivatives Exhibition is be held at Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur...and I gotta present two Mandarin version of the seminars....piece of cake, no problemo! See ya then! |
October 11, 1997 I am happy with my job at KLOFFE (Kuala Lumpur Options and Financial Futures Exchange)which is a brand new exchange started 22 months ago.....just love it and couldn't miss all the volatile stuff, ha! And haze is gone....rain is pouring....I use to hate rain....but I love it when I feel fresh with the air ....hmmm...it feels good! |
September 15,1997 Haze is killing us....I just couldn't believe our Air Pollution Index was sky high at 400 level.....dangerous, we can't even go out for outdoor activites, "too" man! I dun like wearing mask!....let's hope everything would be fine soon....and keep our finger cross, ciaooooo! |
July 1, 1997 Beware of DENGUE fever in Malaysia! I was part of the statistics too...and I just can't believe it either ....admitted in General Hospital Kuala Lumpur for 8 "too" days! Keep your house out of small, poison mos'! Or else, you are just gonna trouble yourself! Like me!!!! :( |
