Hmong Words List/Glossary


The following file is the result of a great innovation by a HLUG subscriber. It was contributed to HLUG (and now to the general public) by Shoua Yang (shoua@vigra.com).

The file is an Excel file format (a spread sheet) that contains essentially all possible constructions of Hmong words--new and existing words--using the RPA rules. Some of the terms are listed but still have no specific meaning. It is a great way to enrich the Hmong vocabulary. The entire set of possible words is around 7208 total monosyllable words. Shoua also spent a great deal of effort translating most commonly used words from Hmong to English and English to Hmong. The glossary includes both Hmoob Dawb and Moob Ntsuab. This product is still in its preliminary form and hasn't been fully reviewed for correctness. So, feel free to send your comments to the author for additional improvement.
