Winamp is a Windows audio player that allows the user to change its appearance. Thousands have made custom skins, and now I've thrown my hat into the ring as well. This is my first attempt, and maybe someday I'll do another. The majority of the work that went into this skin took me about a week, followed by some minor corrections later on. Download and distribute freely, but please do not alter the original. That seems to be happening a lot.
So one day it hits me that the elements of the PS2 design would transfer well into a Winamp skin. Making a skin based on the first Playstation would be pretty tough since there's lots of circles, and Winamp is anything but round. Instead, the PS2 design is nice and rectangular. It's a major change from the first generation machine, and very different from traditional console designs as well. The Japanese have previously been exposed to cute videogame systems, but they didn't seem to mind the PS2 design since it had managed to sell just shy of a million units in its first month. I'm predicting a very successful domestic launch.
The latest projected domestic release date is October 26, 2000. Prepare for it.
Installation: Simply download and place inside the winamp/skins folder. No decompression necessary.
