The professor asked Kaolinite if she had found the next target.
Kaolinite said she had. She was sure this target would have a talisman
since it was the purest heart she had detected so far. The professor
was pleased and said he would give Kaolinite his strongest daimon.

"Hurray! June 30! It's my birthday!" proclaimed Serena.
"That's nice," said the other girls.
"Since you're older, you better
start being more mature," said Amy.

"Is that all you have to say?" wailed Serena.
The girls closed up their textbooks. "Just because
it's your birthday, don't think you can be late for study meeting,"
chided Raye. The girls all left. |
Walking home, Serena saw a beautiful pair of glass slippers
in a store window. She wished someone would buy them for her.
Serena thought about the story of Cinderella and how the Prince found
her glass slipper. "I'll get my Prince to buy them for me!" she
decided. Kaolinite was hidden nearby, watching. |

Darien wondered why Serena was so happy. Serena said that if
Darien wanted to buy her a present, there were some beautiful
glass slippers at the glass art store.
"Well, Christmas is a long way away," remarked Darien awkwardly.
"Don't you know what day today is!" shouted Serena.
"Uh Of course I do," stammered Darien, "how could I forget such
and important day, it's... it's the day we first met, right?"
Serena slapped Darien in the face and marched away.
Darien stood in the street perplexed.
A big crowd of people stared at him. |
Haruka and Michiru saw Serena sitting on a park bench crying.
"What's wrong, dumpling head?" asked Haruka. Michiru gave Serena a
hankerchief to dry her eyes, but Serena blew her nose in it instead.
Serena said Darien had forgotten her birthday. Michiru said
it was terrible for her boyfriend to forget such an important thing.
Serena said Darien wasn't her boyfriend any more. Haruka was happy
about this and said that now she had a chance. |

| "I'm really very attracted to you," whispered Haruka. Serena
stood up quickly and said she had to go to Raye's house for study meeting.
Then Serena zipped out of the park at top speed. Michiru reminded Haruka
that a pure hearted person like Serena might carry a talisman.
Haruka didn't want to believe it. |
Darien phoned Raye's house to see if Serena was there. He told
Raye he had somehow made Serena angry. Raye said that Darien didn't
understand a girl's heart, and told him it was Serena's birthday. |

| Serena walked sadly towards the Shrine. She was upset with
herself for hitting Darien. |
Surprise! Raye and the others had turned the study meeting
into a surprise party for Serena. Lita said she had cooked lots
of goodies. Amy gave Serena a present from the girls which was
a study book with practical advice for passing the high school
entrance exams. Serena was happy but wished in her mind that
she could get a present from Darien.
