Established in 1995,

The Gay Vietnamese Alliance provides a safe and supportive environment for gay, bisexual and transgendered men of Vietnamese descent from all over the world to network, to foster self-empowerment, to voice issues and to create leadership. Its activities include social and political advocacy on immigration, Affirmative Action, fundraising, monthly social, and monthly rap where its members meet every last Saturday of the month to discuss topics ranging from coming out, relationship to HIV/AIDS.

  • First Asian marching unit at Orange County Pride 1994

  • Los Angeles Pride: CSW March

  • Endorsed Freedom to Marry Coalition

  • Supported Refugees Wark-a-Thon

  • Endorsed 2nd Annual Racial Justice Symposium: Upholding Affirmative Action

  • Participate annually at LA Observance of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial and Mobilization

  • Co-sponsored the first National CROSSWALK: Asian & Pacific American Sensuality and Sexuality Conference

  • Participate annually at LA AIDS Walk-a-Thon

  • Monthly raps

  • Conduct HIV/AIDS update seminar/workshops

  • Conduct gay sensitivity training at Vietnamese Community Center of Orange County

  • Participates at sexuality workshop at University's and Colleges

  • Attending Vietnamese LBGT Conferences

  • Speaking at cultural sensitivity training at AIDS Services Foundation

  • Participates annually at Los Angeles/San Francisco Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

  • Co-produce CELEBRASIAN PRIDE '95 with Asian Pacific Islander Orange County AIDS Project
