Title: Kizu darake no Heroine (Heroine that is full of wounds)

Kondou-sensei is ending the day's practice when the episode opens. Masami offers to have a buffet with Karin. Karin declined saying that she is busy. Kondou dismisses the students. When Masami raises her head from a bow with an "arigato gozaimashita", she sees that Kondou-sensei and Karin are no longer there. Masami wonders why they have to leave so early, then recalls that it is Friday - they leave early every Friday. She knows they are up to something. Then Masami sees Karin and Mr. Kondou running in the same direction. Karin is in a hurry because she is already late.

With a big shock to the Kokubu house Karin dashes into the common room, grabs the remote control and switches the channel on the TV. Shuuhei is playing Tetris and is shocked to see his game so abruptly interrupted. Karin is glad that she is still in time for the show. It is the Cutey Chao show.

... A boy is held hostage by a monster when Cutey Chao comes to his rescue. The monster detours to fight with Cutey Chao, but she finishes him off easily with "Cutey Flash." The boy thanked Cutey Chao, but she turns away silently. The episode ends with a narration that goes, "Fighting alone on a path of loneliness, when will Cutey Chao show a bright smile again? It is still unknown."

Karin gets hearts in her eyes and says that Cutey Chao is cool, pretty and agile, but Shuuhei thinks that it is just something good for fooling little kids at best. This sets Karin on fire and scares him. In a rage Karin demands him to say who is the real heroine. Shuuhei says it must be Buurin. He says, "Everybody can see that Buurin has a righteous heart. Cutey Chao simply has a pretty look, but Buurin is the genuine, one and only righteous heroine!" While Shuuhei is talking two plaques with the Japanese idioms meaning "genuine" and "unique" on them drops right on Karin. When she climbs out from under the plaques she complains that her brother is throwing hard idioms at her without considering her views at all.

Ton-chan is eating an apple when Karin rants about how uncool Buurin is. He says Karin is simply speaking ill of Buurin. Karin wants Ton-chan to provide Buurin with better outfits but he says Buurin already looks great. She says all that Buurin has on is a cape, and there is no other heroine with no clothes on. He wonders what this has to do with Karin because it is only Buurin with no clothes on. Karin gets upset saying Ton-chan is talking bullshit. She then continues that as she is a well-raised lady so she has to dress up properly. Ton-chan thinks she is nuts. Karin sees that Ton-chan is not on her side so she claims that she would become a fashionable heroine by her own account. Ton-chan makes a come back saying cynically that it is impossible.

Next day at the classroom, Kashiwagi is imitating Cutey Chao's moves in front of some boys. Karin and Masami says they are childish, but they do agree that Cutey Chao is cool. Kouichi comes and says otherwise. He thinks that Buurin is the real heroine and Cutey Chao is way behind. Karin does feel the shock. The three piglets walk in and sing: "Cha-o bu bu, cha-o cha-o bu bu, bu bu bu Buu-rin!"

When the English class is under way Karin thinks about Kouichi and Buurin. She is happy to know that he likes Buurin. Nonetheless she is still too confused. She goes to see Miss Nanako.

When they discuss about a piglet and a beauty Karin is happy with doubt when Nanako-sensei tells her that she will become a beauty when she grows up. Suddenly Kondou enters the health room. He finds Karin to be the perfect tool so he asks Nanako something about handling sports injuries. Nanako shows him the steps with Karin as the model. Karin is upset being abused like this. While Kondou is close to Nanako he says she looks like something. When questioned about what that means he tries to laugh it off. Arashiyama-sensei is watching through a window. He is angry with flames when he thinks about it is the third time in a day Kondou is finding means to get close to Nanako.

Karin leaves health room with a sigh of relief from abuses. Masami tells her about a Cuteo Chao live show on the coming Sunday in a department store. Masami knows that Karin races to home on Fridays to see the program. They decide to go see the live show, then have a buffet.

The Cutey Chao live show is on Sunday. Shuuhei is going as well because he has to "collect intelligence on a potential competitior of Buurin." When Rikako sees her children playing on the street she becomes too worried and bumps into the window. Shinichirou makes fun of his wife, then he sets out to work. He is to report on Cutey Chao so he is going with the kids. Shinichirou overestimated his agility and trips at the doorsteps. Rikako is now making fun of her husband instead.

So Karin, Masami and Shuuhei go to the department store. There are Cutey Chao posters everywhere. Kondou is here as well. Arashiyama hides behind a corner, thinking that Kondou must have taken Nanako out for a date, and his becomes enraged once again.

Karin claims she would try to learn from Cutey Chao but Shuuhei insists that Buurin is the real heroine. They then notices a man frantically buying everything he could lay his hands on. Masami says that is Kondou-sensei. Karin doesn't believe it at first, but when she recognizes that it is indeed Kondou-sensei, she is shocked. They can't believe that he is also a fan of Cutey Chao. Arashiyama-sensei finds out about this as well, and he can't believe either that Kondou is going to a place for kids.

With drumrolls, a call from the host, and then some cries from the crowd, Cutey Chao appears in a mist of smoke. Arashiyama thinks he saw Nanako-sensei. Cutey Chao reads a line from the script: "When will this battle end? Can my wish of becoming a normal girl again can ever be realized?" The line catches Karin in perfect harmony as she feels and thinks the same way.

All of a sudden a rough-looking man dashes into the scene right from where Karin stands.

The man says he had just robbed a bank and police is after him. He demands everyone to stand aside. Cutey Chao replied, "Oh, an outlaw! I, Cutey Chao, will fix you right here!" The situation becomes tense immediately while the host is hiding in the backstage flipping through the script finding nothing having to do with a bank robber. After an unsuccessful charge by Cutey Chao the robber jumps down the stage and grabs a child as hostage. The kid's mother wants to take a picture with her child without knowing what is happening. After a brief confrontation between Chao and the robber, he runs down the stairs into the building. Cutey Chao goes after him. During all these times everyone think it is just a very realistic performance. After Arashiyama went after Cutey Chao Karin suggests that anyone can participate in the performance, so all the audiences rush down the stairs all at once. This leaves the angry host behind who keeps ranting that there is no "bank robber" role in the script.

As the robber runs through the store with the child the TV reports that a picture of the bank robber that morning has been released. It looks just like him.

(Commercial break)

Several women are shopping for cheap garments when the robber runs through besides them. Followed by Cutey Chao, Arashiyama (who keeps yelling "Nanako-sensei"), Kondou and the crowd from the live show, it becomes an instant mess. Everyone is enthusiastically finding the robber, while he hid himself in a closet cursing. The moment he stepped out of the closet he is greeted by flashes from Shinichirou's camera. Shinichirou is taking pictures of him, thinking that he made a very real performance at the live show. Once the robber is aware of what Shinichirou is doing he pushes Shinichirou aside to the floor.

Cutey Chao is trying to locate the robber in the fashion section. He disguised himself with the child as yet another fashion model. She found him, then there is a second confrontation. Arashiyama hugged Cutey Chao - thinking that she is Nanako-sensei - as the robber begins his attack, so he runs away instead. Kondou kicks Arashiyama in his head to free Cutey Chao, then Arashiyama grabs his shirt and screamed at Kondou. He shouts back that she is Cutey Chao, not Nanako-sensei. Surprise for Arashiyama.

Karin and Masami is in the sports equipment section. The child's cry got their attention. Karin hands a tennis ball and racket to Masami who served the ball, knocking down a baseball bat that drops right on the robber's head. As Karin cheers for Masami they see the robber running down an escalator.

The robber takes the elevator to the first floor. Kondou and many others are already waiting as the door opens, so he has to fight his way through. After he got away from the crowd he finds Cutey Chao standing in his way. She looks so cool Karin got big starry eyes in admiration. All the spectators are also cheering for Chao. A green pig is hanging up in the ceiling. A struggle between Chao and the robber begun, and ends with a shot fired from his gun. The bullet shot down the green pig which conveniently lands on Karin.

At this everyone is stunned. They begin to flee as the Chao show host tells everyone that he is a real bank robber. After the robber runs away cursing at the mess the TV wall behind him displays a picture of him with the caption "bank robber". The robber threatens to kill the child if anyone act foul. Karin, trapped inside the pig, decides to transform.

"Ba Bi Bu Be Buurin!"

The robber demands a car for his escape. With a pink flash Buurin slit the green pig open and flies out. Unfortunately she flies too fast and hit the ceiling hard. With a big bruise on her head Buurin continues her ballad-like appearance "sequence". Buurin demands the robber to surrender but he is surprised that a pig can talk.

Another slient confrontation ended with the siren of police cars. Buurin took the chance to jump forward, grabbing the robber's leg and beg him to free the child and use her instead as the hostage. To get Buurin off his feet the robber stomps on her head and throws her around, but she would not compromise, despite all the wounds she got. The crowd, starting with Cutey Chao herself, starts cheering for Buurin.

The robber bursts out in tears at this scene. It is too touching for him. Then he tells his sad past due to his awful look. "... However I tried to be a righteous man, but I failed because no company wanted to hire a man like me..." so he has no money left and has to resort to robbing a bank. He continues that it is because of Buurin he finally understands that the heart is more important than the look. This episode ends with the robber embracing Buurin with everyone applauding.

Before the police take him away the robber promised Buurin that he would start his life anew after he has served the law. After they left Cutey Chao approaches, she tells Buurin that she is the real heroine.

At home Karin tells her mother that she got the wounds because she fell down the stairs.

Karin says this action proves that Buurin is really capable since Cutey Chao may not be able to change the robber even though she has him subdued. Then Karin says it is time for the pearls, and she should get loads of them now that she did a really good deed. She gets excited when she gets five, then keep talking to Ton-chan about the heroine she should become.
