If you are reading this, I will bet you really like Tonde Buurin and wants to see the whole series.
Japanese ("Tonde Buurin"): Your wait is over! You can now get the entire series in three DVD box sets. (1, 2, 3) The DVDs are region 2, Japanese only so you'll need a region free DVD player and working knowledge of Japanese.
You only have until July 2003 to get them so act quick!
For the more adventurous, head for Japan and check out the used video stores. You may be able to find a used Buurin video or laserdisc...
Cantonese ("Boorin"): You have several methods to get it for your own enjoyment:
- Buy the Hong Kong VCD release that covers up to episode 26. Two episodes per disc.
- The entire Cantonese dub is available for rental in certain local video rental stores (look for those affiliated with TVB somehow). If you want to "own" a copy, prepare two VCRs and ask a video guru for ways of making crystal clear copies from rental tapes. (No, THAT I'm not telling you here.) Unfortunately this is the only way to go if you want to keep a copy of all 51 episodes.
Mandarin ("Boorin"): There is a Mandarin dub for the Taiwan market. Head for Taiwan and check out the video rental stores there.
Other dubs ("Super Pig" et al): Two English dubs have appeared. No known retail release. Have a friend tape it off TV for you.
