YTV has requested a new Category 2 TV network to the CRTC which will be devoted to Japanese animation called "The Anime Channel". It will feature shows and movies that are either English dubbed or English subtitled. All English subtitled and certain dubbed shows will be shown uncut and uncensored from their release. Shows would be placed in the appropriate time slots for kid friendly viewing during the day and adult viewing during the late evening. Currently, this network will be focused on anime in the PG-13 & R rated levels and at least 65% will feature anime programming content. YTV & Corus Entertainment gotten approval to launch this new digital channel in either 2008 or 2009.
