NEW SOUTH WALES
I landed in Australia at Sydney airport late and stayed the night there. Next day I contacted my Servas hosts and started my Australian adventures. Sydney was a welcome change from Asian metropolis. It is very cosmopolitan and people are free and easy-going. However, I got a close call on my first week when a taxi hit me but after several weeks recuperating and repairng the bicycle I was on my way up the coast towards Queensland. The coast was pleasant country, mostly holiday towns and some fishing. There were many reserves and some National Parks. The road was too narrow (for a road between the 1st and 3rd biggest cities of an advanced country) and had much traffic.
