The Northern Territory is one of Australias harshest environments and therefore sparsely populated. However, it has the highest proportion of Aboriginal peoples. The "Territorians"are often unconventional and individualists. There are several "famous" national parks such as Kakadu and Uluru. The money grabbing is felt strongly there. But out on the stations(cattle ranches) people were very welcoming The climate ranges from incredibly hot and dry to torrential rains and floods. As the cycling distances were large between populated centers and I was time-constrained I took some public transport over some sectors. I found that cycling at 43C is nearly impossible!!!
