Sunday, 16th April at Cimahi-Bandung, Indonesia, me and Linda finally married in the company of her family, my mother and brother and hundreds of people who were invited to join the ceremonial happening. The following photos give an impression about the way we experienced the sundanese way of getting married.

The Bath Ritual

^ Linda asks her parents forgiveness for all things she might have done wrong in the past. Now already I make my first mistake by almost asking forgiveness to my brother. My mother doesn't know wether to laugh or cry..

^ her parents are the first to sprinkle Linda with flower parfumed water. My mother promises to wash all sins away from my muscular body...

^ Mother and father throw a watervase into pieces, which supposes to bring good luck

^ Finally, father and mother bring Linda back to the makeup room, where she will be prepared for the final round; the wedding....

High Noon (actually 09:00 am)

^ My mother and a bodyguard(my brother in disguise) lead me to the wedding....
^ welcomed by Linda's parents and Rinni, one of her younger sisters. ^ another garlic necklace around my neck (actually some special ordered flowerpieces which are not easy to get, my mama told me..)
^ Again I almost forget to shake hands in islam/sundanese manner..... ^ That's it....my mother gave me away.....I try not to cry for mamma...

^Linda is ready.....

^People know I don't speak or read Indonesian

..Nevertheless I had to read loudly.........

^ We are married! I forget again to give hand in islam way... ^ the bridetreasure......
^I am starting to learn it..... ^Linda kneels again for her parents
^...and so do I... ^Almost forget the ring rituals......
^it's a relief to sit outside.... ^Linda's sisters (left to right): Lea, Rinni and Lena

more photo's will follow..........

^our mothers throw candies and money to the people...

Extra shots.....

After the regular photoshooting we had to pose on the weddingbed.....I had some original poses in my mind, but decided to save those for later...
Even the feeding ritual was a target for photoshooting...As you all know, feeding each other is part of the process towards mating...(sorry??)
Here is a clear shot of our bed...I still remember the many safety needles which were left in the sheets after the flowers were removed....Ouch....
