Concert Review:
"Well, here's my $0.02 on the concert. It was held at Casino Rama, about an hour and change north of Toronto and all the 3,200 tickets were sold out. The concert itself was held in a temporarily erected tent on the casino grounds. The tent has also been used for such acts as Huey Lewis & the News, Gladys Knight & the Temptations, Kenny Rogers and others so one would expect the sound quality to be good. At the beginning of the concert, Andy was up first and I thought the sound quality was really poor, but then again, I was sitting in the third row from the back. The music was too loud and overwhelming and not too clear. This kinda drowned out Andy's singing a bit but eventually somebody must have fixed things or something because the sound improved.
"Andy first appeared wearing a black jacket/blazer with no shirt underneath with dark pants. All the females in the audience cheered and howled when he unbuttoned the jacket for his fast songs sequence, exposing his chest and abs somewhat. He later changed into a red t-shirt with dark pants.
"Cass first appeared wearing a big white strapless gown with a feathery thing on front. It could have been a wedding dress. After, she changed into a greyish/silver dress with spaghetti straps.
"Both were very personable when talking to the audience and quite funny at times. At one point, someone in the audience yelled to Cass, "Lam Hoi Fung hai been ah?", to which she replied, "Kui hai heung kong ah. Ngor ho gwa chui kui (I really miss him)". To this the audience responded with a big collective "Awww", an isn't that cute kinda "awww".
"At the end of the concert, Cass played the piano and they both sang verses to a Danny Chan song. Later, Andy played the guitar (sort of) while singing some older English song, sorry I can't remember the title. They ended the show with the timeless duet "Endless Love", just under two hours in length.
"Overall, I must admit that I found the concert to be rather average. But I think this has to do more with the concert venue than the singers themselves, plus the plastic folding chairs we were sitting on was turning my ass into mush. ;) Both singers sang most of their hits and each of their new plugged songs too (Andy's "Sky Of Mine, Songs Of Mine" and Cass' "I've Got My Own Place") so I can't complain about that. The singing was executed very well. I think that if the venue was better, my 3 out of 5 stars rating would definitely increase to a 4/5 stars. Plus, they gave out free t-shirts. :)"
