Ranma's Story

They asked me here to talk about my life, all the stuff I've done and all that, but first, you might wanna know about a lady called Rumiko Takahashi. (Her picture's over there on the left.) Several years ago, she came by the Tendo Dojo and negotiated the rights to my biography with my pop. (I can't believe he sold it for only a four-course dinner! He didn't even ask me if I wanted people to know all the stuff that's happened to me!) Anyway, the manga biography began in Shonen Sunday in 1987, and continued until May, 1996. In 1989, the anime version, based on the manga, began on Japanese TV and ran for 161 episodes. The series extended to movies and even an 11-episode OAV series after the TV series ended. (Y'know, I figure that with royalties from them translating the series into other languages and stuff, I woulda been rich! Stupid old man!)

Still, I gotta admit, Ms. Takahashi got everyone and everything down pretty good. Except for me, that is. I come across like some kinda jerk!! Can you believe that? I can't even sue for slander 'cause it's supposed to be "a work of fiction based on my life." Pop and his stupid ideas...

That's OK, though, 'cause I'm gonna tell you the truth about me and my life.
