The Manga moves much faster then the Anime. It does not drag on and covers all the points fairly quickly. The storylines between the Anime and the Manga are very closely paralleled. One of the major differences is that the enemies are killed by the Senshi. Mars killed Jadeite, Jupiter killed Nephrite, Venus killed Zoisite, and Moon killed Kunzite.
The Manga also does more into depth about the past and The Silver Millennium. It takes about how the four Generals were originally Prince Endymions friends and protectors, then they defected to the Dark Kingdom. It would also be important to note that the four generals all had a love for one of the Senshi, Mercury and Zoisite, Mars and Jadeite, Jupiter and Nephrite and finally Venus and Kunzite. When the Generals were killed they became the four stones they represent. Beryl gave these stones to Endymion, when he was under her control, to protect him.
As well in the past when the Dark Kingdom was attacking the Moon Kingdom, Prince Darien was killed. Upon seeing this, Princess Serenity committed suicide. After this, Queen Serenity repelled Beryl's forces and sent them to Earth by activating the Silver Crystal but could not completely destroy them because of the shock from her daughter's death.
When the Senshi go to the Moon, they find a sword on the ground. Sailor Venus takes the sword. Later Sailor Venus actually uses the sword to kill Queen Beryl! Thus making Queen Metallia the major enemy. Sailor Moon uses the sword to kill Evil Prince Endymion then, she commits suicide. The Senshi give up their lives to awaken Sailor Moon then, Sailor Moon Kills Metallia, using the ginzuishou, which blossoms into a flower shape, and is used with the Moon Stick.
