p r o d u c t i o n  n o t e s

This is about my 3rd or 4th try at writing a story. My earlier works tend to be very dark and tumultuous. What do you expect otherwise from a teenager going through life's crisis? ^_^ 

Anyhow, my parents were against me drawing doodle books. And that was a particular tough period of my life. 

So the story ended being a bit sadistic. Hm...which i won't show here. 
 

<< You can see the blue lines here to your left. These are drawn with Non-Photo blue color pencil to guide the cutting of screentone. This step is standard procedure for manga artists. 

The blue won't show up in printing.

<< It was pretty bad work. I think I was still testing things out and was using these pages as study samples. 

<< It's a mini-warmup in preparation for my last and final manga: the 40+ pages Coronation Saga. 

Coronation Saga is very easy for me to work on. If it weren't for the contest page limit of 40 pages (in multiples of 8), I would have continued on for more. 

<< Masquerade here is intended to be a black gothic folklore. The Mask is some evil relic that sucks the life energy out of the wearer­and drove the dark creatures back into their original animal form.

<< I wish I can tell you the plot, but as I lost the dialog sheet that was laid over the artwork, hm...this is 3 years ago after all. 

I just can't remember what was I thinking, or in this case, probably wasn't thinking. 

It's mostly a layout study; 

At any rate, I leave the subject open & the imagination to you. 
 

<< Oh, one other thing. Believe it or not, these pages are drawn on really crappy paper. And on the reverse side too. 

8 pages in all; no doubt never meant to be more than a short thriller episode, the kind that has no beg. & no end.
