OLD NEWS

Aug. 31 - My company is moving its office to a new building across the street, so I the office is closed today. Plus it's Labor Day on Monday so I get a 4 day weekend! We were gonna go to Montreal, but plans folded so we're gonna BBQ instead. Mike and Homer invented "Beef Dogs". C-Lo wanted a clam bake but I wanted "clam casino" (add bacon). so we had clam casinos and bacon beef dogs at our BBQ. Ain't that creative?

Aug. 24 - Mike's moving back to RPI from NJ. I went along for the ride. The person he sublet his room to hasn't moved out yet, his landlord moved stuff around and Mike can't find a lot of his stuff. I got more upset than I should have about the situation, amazing how Mike just took it all in and did what he needed to do. He took back his room and put the sublet-ee's stuff into another room, all the while making a mental note of what's he might be missing from last year.

Aug. 21 - Sore throat today. Stomach is full of water yet my throat still feels dry. Hope I don't have to use one of my sick days. I've been saving them up for winter break. Well here's hoping I win some of that 62 million $$ Lotto.

Aug. 20 - Went to Sports Authority to see if I can pick anything up for aerobics or kickboxing. Nada. Ended up looking at workout clothes that just didn't look right on me. *sigh*

Aug. 18 - Spent more money on clothes. How can I resist sales at Woodbury Commons? Last time Club Monaco, this time BR. Nice blue skirt, white shirt, and a new bag.

Aug. 11 - We went to this really nice restaurant for Gladys' Bday celebration - Churrascaria Plataforma. Not too expensive as long as you don't order anything outside the main course. You get an excellent salad bar, but you won't want it when you see what the main course is... Prime Rib, Sirloin Steak, Chicken, Sausage, Lamb, Pork, Salmon, Ribs... anything you want carved onto your plate. Screw salad! gimme MEAT!! They also had a 3 layer cart full of dessert: flan, chocolate mousse, taramisu.... Yummm. Find 316 W. 49th St. Call (212) 245-0505 b4 you go. Dress nice.

Aug. 09 - We wanted to go to a spa but we couldn't find one. We went to a Chinese grocery/bakery store but the bakery is in renovation for the rest of the year. The only good thing there was to do was to visit the HUGE B&N in Nutley, NJ. Ann and Debbie all left with a whole arm full of books. I'm still debating which books I want to read.

Aug. 08 - We had dim-sum in NJ. Shopped in Macy's in NYC. Walked across Central Park and took a ride on the carousel. Passed by the Met. Had sushi at Yama's. Had margaritas at "The Office" in Morristown, NJ. My calves are killing me! This is more exercise than I've done all month!

Aug. 07 - My girls came to visit me! Deb drove all the way from her Diaper U. in PA and Ann drove all the way from Boston. We had Chinese food and talked about how we're doing and just making fun of Mike.

Aug. 06 - Mike's brother, Pete, graduated from his program at AT&T in Basking Ridge, NJ. Mike drove down to attend his graduation. I thought Mike and I were his only guests, but he also invited Molly who lives in the area. This is so cool! Now I have someone to hang out with in NJ!

Aug. 5 - YAY!! Found a NICE Chinese grocery store for my all my Chinese cravings. They got a Chinese bakery and a take-out homestyle Chinese food stand. Now I've got a source to buy food for my future dinner parties.

Aug. 4 - OMG... Had the best Sashimi ever. You gotta go there. It's not expensive either! I got 15 HUGE slices for only $20. I think the place is: Yama Restaurant, 40 Carmine St. New York, NY. 10014. (212) 989-9330. Between 6th and 7th near Holland Tunnel. GoGoGOGO! It's gOOOOOOd.

Aug. 3 - Watched "Rush Hour 2". OMG... Funniest I've seen so far. Too bad Zhang Zi Yi didn't have a more active part. But what's with us Asians all "look alike"? That's wrong... but hey, he's just acting out what ignorant people think.
