OLD NEWS
April 30 - Betty got me hooked on Japanese Dramas. Well I've always liked them but never had the resources to watch them. I guess Betty's mom has a bunch so Betty has seen a few. She lent me "Long Vacation" with Takuya Kimura. It's sooooo cute. I'm soooo hooked. I've watched this one twice already. I found an online merchant that sells these VCDs for a reasonable price. I can't resist buying some.
April 27 - This is my 5th time attending CASA's annual semiformal. Last year I went all out and bought a big red ballgown. This year I just wore a simple black dress. Seems like I had more fun in the simple black dress. Or maybe it was because of the company.
April 3 - I rode the bus from Willowbrook Mall to the Port Authority to bowl with the New York office people. I'm so excited that I found this bus route, it's so easy to use and it's cheap and it's FAST! The New York office people are really nice. We had lunches while I was working there. They are much more lively than people in my office, but I can't deny that I'm being spoiled in NJ. My team won second place (out of 3 teams). Although I was the worst bowler in my team we were perfectly happy and having a blast. Sometimes being competitive takes all the fun out of playing, but today it's was just all good fun and I loved it. We had pizza afterwards and went our separate ways. Who knew there was a bowling alley in the Port Authority?
March 29 - I went to visit Debbie in Ohio this weekend. Ann's flying there to meet us too. It's a triple event: sight seeing, hang out with the girls, and celebrate my birthday. What did we do? We pretty much just talked about our lives, ate out a lot, and watched 2 seasons of Sex in the City. Oh! And Barnes and Noble! We paid homage to the Book Temple and spent endless hours drinking coffee.
March 21 - This is my last day working in the city (at least for this project). I think the PM for the project just made me an offer to work in the NY office. The offer wasn't enough for me to afford me a better lifestyle in NYC than what I have in NJ, so I didn't follow up on it. I met Dave for drinks after work in some bar around time square. He's working on a site right in time square, so it's just a hop away for him. We talked for 3 hours just talking about work and relationships. I swung by his new place which is really nice and met his roommate.
March
March 6 - Harold (my boss) came to the NY office to help out with the project. He says he definitly likes "the view" in the city. To quote him: Can I GET some? We ended up having lunch in a sports bar. The waiters were fast and the food was excellent. I guess it's a NYC trait. I'm growing a special liking to tortellini. They're like Italian dumplings to me.
March 5 - I started making a map for the streets around the office. 34th St to 28 St betweeen 8th Ave. and 6th Ave. Major landmarks are Madison Sq Garden, Macy's, and Manhattan Mall. More news of my lunch-time exploring later.
March 4 - Starting today I'm working in the NYC office for the duration of a project. Estimated the most one month. I drive to Newark and take the PATH into the city. The office is 2 blocks away from Madison Square Garden. The commute is about an hour and a half. The only plus to this is a wide variety of choices for lunch.
