Jingoro upsets Kurumi escaping from his bath. Running, full of suds, into the room
Manami is cleaning doesn't please her either. Kurumi comes and starts levitating him back.
Just then, the doorbell rings, and Jingoro gets the short end of Kurumi's distraction.
It's Hikaru. She's come by looking for her darling. Manami says he's gone out, and Kurumi
adds he's over at Komatsu's. Hikaru runs off to find him. Outside the building she runs
into Yuusaku who was waiting for her. He asks if they can go somewhere together. She asks
if he has the money and takes advantage of his distraction while checking for it to run
off.
Kyousuke and Hatta are with Komatsu's in his room, which is decorated with pictures of
scantily clad girls. Kyousuke's impressed by the collection, but Komatsu criticizes him
for not bringing along Kurumi and Manami like he was told. They kid Kyousuke about already
having a girl of his type nearby, even if he does prefer a weird one. Kyousuke, thinking
of Madoka, claims she's not as weird as they think. They counter that she is, ``She's in
seventh grade, and still stuck with Ayukawa.'' ``Oh! you mean Hikaru...'' And the perverts
wonder if he's got someone else in mind too. He denies this and claims he's not as
familiar with Hikaru as they think. They tell him he should try to get her away from
Madoka. Madoka's getting quieter nowadays, but earlier she was a real bad kid, doing
unhealthy things. When Kyousuke wonders what, Hatta explains by pointing at the ceiling
where the gals in the pictures have even less on.
As Kyousuke is walking home, he thinks that he really doesn't know much about Madoka's
past. He remembers when, after work, she asked if she could stay at his place, and wonders
if she's said that kind of thing more than once. As he's wandering, he ends up in front of
her house just as she's coming out, and wonders why he ended up there. They walk off
together and narrowly avoid meeting Hikaru and Yuusaku by the fountain in the park.
They end up downtown in front of a bar. Kyousuke is reluctant to go in, but Madoka
points out that no one says kids can't. Just then a couple comes out, recognizes Madoka,
and wonder what to do. They are surprised at her, saying she's famous for not letting men
get near her. ``I can't imagine you're a pair.'' They call Kyousuke a cute boy, and tell
him Madoka will teach him lots of things, like ``this'' and ``that'' and ``this.'' He gets
mad at them, telling them to cut it out and apologize to Madoka. She grabs his arm and
drags him down the stairs and into the bar. He's still fuming at being called a kid and
more so at what they implied about Madoka. When he asks why she didn't reply to them, she
tells him that he said enough, so it's ok.
The two of them sit down at a table. Kyousuke is now embarrassed by his behavior
earlier, seeing Madoka had the best response. The waitress brings them two of ``the
usual'' drinks. Kyousuke is surprised to find that it's alcoholic, but Madoka says its not
very much so.
At home Manami notices that Kyousuke's late in getting home; it's already 9:00. Kurumi
agrees and finishes decorating Jingoro with little bows.
Madoka is walking a drunk Kyousuke home. She's just trying to help, but he's still
loudly protesting being called a kid and yells at her for treating him like one. He claims
not to be drunk, ``you're not drunk unless you're seeing triple... When did there become
three of you?'' He continues, ``You don't think much of me, do you? Sure, you're probably
used to playing around. I'm not...'' He then realizes what he said and tries to apologize,
but when he moves to kiss her, she returns him a fierce slap.
The next morning Kyousuke awakens in his own bed, not remembering last night. Kurumi
and Manami come in, they are impressed he made it home last night as drunk as he was. When
they add that Dad was really mad since he was drinking alcohol, his memory of last night
comes back, much to his chagrin.
At school, he tries to peep in the door to see how Madoka is reacting, but Komatsu
pushes him right on through, and then adds to the problem by saying in front of everyone
that Hikaru was looking for him yesterday. At lunch break Madoka leaves the room. Kyousuke
tries to follow and talk to her but she ignores him. Then Komatsu drags him off to the
concession stand to get ``the elusive cutlet-sandwich.''
When they arrive, Hikaru runs up and jumps all over him. ``I was looking all over for
you yesterday.'' She can't understand why he says this isn't the best time to act like
this. Unlike him, she is unconcerned about everyone else looking on. ``After all, we're a
couple.'' When he suggests they talk by themselves, she says she'll meet him at Abcb after
school and runs off. Kyousuke then realizes he can't go to Abcb.
After school, Madoka is working at Abcb, and Hikaru is there waiting for Kyousuke. When
Madoka gives her the wrong order, Hikaru comments that it's uncommon for her to make a
mistake like that, something must have happened. ``What was it?'' Madoka denies that
anything did. As Hikaru keeps asking, she hears the door open, and drops the glass she's
holding. Master is confused since he notices that she did it deliberately. When he
mentions that Kyousuke hasn't come in all day, she ends up cutting her finger on the
pieces.
That evening, as Madoka is leaving, Master tells her, ``I don't know if this is
uncalled for but... Don't worry to much about it. All kinds of things happen when you're
young.''
Outside Madoka plays the blues on her saxophone while Kyousuke lies on his bed and
thinks, ``I can interpret her slapping me at that time as meaning she isn't the Ayukawa
that everyone said she is. And to think, I was trying to deduce her past from rumor!''
The next day at lunch break, Madoka stops at Kyousuke's desk and asks if he has a
minute. Could they talk somewhere else? As soon as they are out of the classroom, Komatsu
again drags Kyousuke off to the concession stand. Kyousuke is a wild man in the crush to
get a cutlet-sandwich. He gets two and gives one to Komatsu who came out of the fray
empty-handed. Hikaru jumps him again, claiming, ``I waited for you all that time at
Abcb.''
She drags him up to the roof to feed him the lunch she made for him. As she is doing
this, she tells him that something must have happened to Madoka. Yesterday she was
absent-minded, not herself at all. She didn't even tell Hikaru what happened. ``Something
really shocking must have happened to her.''
Madoka is looking for Kyousuke. She finds Komatsu and Hatta eating lunch in the
school-yard and asks them if they know where he is. They point her to the roof.
Hikaru continues to feed Kyousuke and asks him if he thinks she'd make a good wife.
This makes him wonder how she can think of something like that at this time. He hears the
door open and sees Madoka look out. However, she sees the two of them and heads back
downstairs. Kyousuke distracts Hikaru by ``seeing'' something close to the sun. He asks
her if it might be a UFO, and while she is looking runs off. With a silent apology to
Hikaru, he chases Madoka down the stairs, using his power to teleport a flight in front of
her.
They meet, both out of breath from running and unsure what to say. They begin at the
same time, Kyousuke saying, ``I guess I better be careful about alcohol.'' When she asks
if the whole thing was because of the alcohol, he says no, he did use it as a booster
but... ``It was the same for me,'' she replies. She walks down the stairs past him,
adding, ``I guess it's not good to drink alcohol.'' She mentions that time after work, and
adds, ``but that was the only time. You thought I was really bad, didn't you?''
His denial brings a smile to her face and joy back to her demeanor. ``I'm hungry... I
haven't had lunch yet.'' Kyousuke pulls the sandwich out of his pocket and tosses it to
her. The fact that it's ``the elusive cutlet sandwich'' only makes her smile more as she
takes a bite, happy that Kyousuke doesn't really think she's a bad kid.
Meanwhile, Hikaru is still on the roof trying to find the UFO. She turns around to ask
``Darling'' only to find that he's not there either.
