1st Kiss:
Sighted at: Book 3
Where: In an alley behind the Karaoke Center.
When: That night on their High School Graduation.
Started by: Naoki
Reason: Kotoko was upset and angry over how everybody was laughing at her persistent chase for Naoki. Thus she declared that she will forget about him and find a better guy in University. Naoki kisses her and said: "Try and forget me now."

Sighted at: Book 8 (But actual deed done on Book 7)
Where: In the woods near an Inn where Naoki was working.
When: During one of the summer holidays.
Started by: Naoki
Reason: Actually Kotoko was dozing beneath a tree and Naoki happened to pass by. This stolen kiss was witnessed only by Naoki's little brother, Youki, which was then related in detail on Book 8. However the actual thing happened in Book 7, in the form of Kotoko's dream. Silly Kotoko of course thought that it was all just a dream... if only she knew!

Sighted at: Book 9 (It's not exactly a kiss but...)
Where: At a park.
When: During the Sakura-Blossom viewing party the Tennis club had organised one night.
Started by: Naoki
Reason: Erm, it's actually not a real kiss.. but let me explain why I deem it significant enough to put it here (^^). Well Reiko (Kotoko's love rival) had purposely asked Naoki out to clarify his feelings for her. When he rejected her by saying that she was just a friend, she tried to kiss him. However Naoki stopped her. Reiko was incensed and demanded to know why he wouldn't kiss her and who would he rather kiss then? Naoki then replied that he had kissed Kotoko... Awww... Isn't that the sweetest thing to say? Hehehe..

Sighted at: Book 10
Where: On the streets on the way back to the House.
When: In the rain, while Naoki is waiting for Kotoko to come back from her "date" with Kinnosuke.
Started by: Naoki
Reason: Naoki had gotten wind about Kinnosuke proposing to Kotoko. Kotoko was seriously considering of accepting the proposal since she believes that she has lost all chances with Naoki (he's currently on a "Omiai" (marriage agreement) with a big boss's grand-daughter). Naoki of course is jealous and tells her that she cannot like anybody besides himself. She got angry and shouted that yes, she may like him a lot but Naoki doesn't even like her so what's the use...? Then Naoki kisses her and tells her that she is not suppossed to like any other guys besides him. Kotoko then says that "this is the 2nd time he has kissed her" but Naoki says that "this is the 3rd time" (pls refer to "2nd Kiss"). Then he said that the number doesn't matter. After that he pulled her home and announced to the whole family that he wants to marry Kotoko.. *Doki Doki* He keeps giving her little kisses on the cheek. *silly grin*

Where: At the Church.
When: During their Wedding Ceremony
Started by: Kotoko
Reason: Before the ceremony, Youki told Kotoko that the "dream" she thought she had about Naoki kissing her under the tree was not a dream afterall (pls refer to "2nd Kiss" again). So at the moment when they are suppossed to exchange kisses, Kotoko confronts Naoki about it. She said "You are actually attracted to me too right?" Then she kisses him. "Serves you right!" Kotoko concluded. ^-^

Sighted at: Book 11
Where: On a pavement in Hawaii.
When: During their Honeymoon.
Started by: Mutual (Naoki).
Reason: The reason why I think that it was Naoki who initiated the kiss was that Kotoko had gone missing during a fit of temper. Then when Naoki found her again she was so upset for she believed that she had caused him a lot of trouble. Naoki silences her with a kiss saying that she had made him extremely worried.

Sighted at: Book 11
Where: In their bedroom at Home.
When: After they got back together, after the videogame was launched.
Started by: Mutual.
Reason: They had a small fight coz Naoki had not registered their marriage as yet and did not give any indication of doing so soon. Then he could not return home for nearly a week as he was working on the videogame. Kotoko, not knowing about the videogame problem, was hurt and believed that the marriage was over before it could begin. However the truth was out and Naoki publicly announced to all that she was his wife and was called "Irie Kotoko" during the official launching of the game. Thus that night, they exchanged a tender kiss before he zonked out and fell asleep on her shoulder... How Sweet! Hahaha..

Where: Under the stars, in Naoki's Grandpa's house in a village.
When: During their two week vacation back in the countryside, where Naoki's mother resides.
Started by: Mutual.
Reason: Actually it was just a near kiss. You know, the typical "look into each other's eyes, under a starry night". Then Naoki's pesky cousins interrupted them. What a waste! *grin*

Sighted at: Book 13
Where: On their bedroom's balcony.
When: After seeing a doctor due to a "pregnancy false alarm".
Started by: Naoki.
Reason: Well Naoki's mom thought that Kotoko was pregnant and started a big hoo-har about it as usual. So when Naoki came back from a 3-day training, he brought her to a doctor for a check-up. Of coz she was not pregnant thus was feeling desolate. She was staring mournfully at the starry sky from her balcony when Naoki came to stand beside her. Naoki was telling her that IF she really was pregnant, he would have been ready to be a dad. Kotoko agreed with him that being a dad would be a good feeling. He then kissed her and one thing led to another and they decided to "go forth and populate" that night. -_-;;

Where: On a little boat, on a lake in the park.
When: The night of their first fiasco of a date.
Started by: Naoki.
Reason: It was their first date ever, and Kotoko wanted it to be perfect and to go according to her plan. (One that she has laboured over for a night) However being Naoki, he totally disrupted her plan for the "perfect date". Everything she wanted went wrong. However just before she thought they were going home, Naoki pulled her along to the closed boating station, vaulted over and rowed a boat out to the middle of the lake. He kissed her to basically make her shut up when she was berating him for making fun of her "plans". Then he said that since the rest of the day did not go according to plan, he will make at least one thing come true. And yes, that's right. She had dreamed of sharing kisses with him at night on the small boat in the middle of the lake. ^_^

Sighted at: Book 16
Where: At home.
When: The night of their major quarrel.
Started by: Naoki.
Reason: A fellow nursing classmate of Kotoko's has been chasing after her for quite a while. He claimed that Naoki can never give her happiness and that Kotoko needs him, Keita, instead. Kotoko was in a difficult position for Naoki had given her the cold shoulder days before and they had a major quarrel over it. However the reason why Naoki had such a cold attitude was that he was actually jealous of Keita. Yup! Cool, calm, emotionless Naoki was for the first time of his life, feeling the emotion called Jealousy. Ironically it was Kinnosuke who had pointed that out to him ^_^ Naoki actually declared that "I have never before felt human emotions such as pain and jealousy. But when Kotoko appeared in my life, these emotions which were hidden deep in my heart surfaced. I don't even know what I should do. Thus Keita, you don't need Kotoko (since you're full of those emotions) but the one who needs Kotoko is me. Only when Kotoko is beside me can I be my true self." *doki doki*

Sighted at: Book 16 (It's a hug...)
Where: In the University's Hall.
When: Ceremony whereby trainee nurses are given their nurses' caps.
Started by: Mutual.
Reason: Actually it was a hug more than a kiss.. It was such an important ceremony for her, for that means that she has graduated from the theory side and could proceed onto the practical training. However Naoki couldn't make it as he had to attend a Doctors seminar with his mentor, and besides, he said that it was too embarrasing to buy her a bunch of flowers for that ceremony. >_<;; Thus when the ceremony was over and everybody else has left, Kotoko stayed on for a while since Naoki wasn't expected back until much later. Who knows? Naoki showed up! Apparently he had excused himself and took an earlier train back. When Kotoko asked if he came back just to see her, he replied that he had missed the ceremony and that flower shops were already closed.. But she said that none of that matters as long as Naoki was there. Naoki hugged her close and told her to repeat to him the portion of the nurse's pledge that she had to memorise.

Sighted at: Book 17 (It's not a kiss but...)
Where: In the Hospital Ward.
When: The last day of Kotoko's Practical Training.
Started by: Naoki.
Reason: This is not a kiss actually. Kotoko was having hell the past couple weeks looking after a particularly difficult patient, an old lady who was also a fan of Naoki -_-;; The old lady, upon knowing that she's Naoki's wife, purposely gave her a lot of trouble and refused to acknowledge that she's a capable nurse. However during the last day, the old lady pulled Naoki aside and commented "You have chosen a good girl." He smiled and replied "Yes." This is one of the clear indications of his feelings for Kotoko ^_^

Sighted at: Book 17 (Not a kiss but...)
Where: Satomi's Wedding Hall.
When: While Kotoko was giving her drunken speech.
Started by: Naoki.
Reason: This is not a kiss either. Kotoko was asked to give a speech during Satomi's wedding ceremony about their long friendship. However Satomi's mother-in-law is a snob and ordered Kotoko not to mention about their being in the F class throughout their education (ie, don't reveal how "academically-challenged" they were). Kotoko was angry at all the lies the mother-in-law was weaving about Satomi during the initial speech that she downed her alcohol in a gulp and became drunk. Thus when it was Kotoko's turn to speak, she blurted out all the truths that Satomi, though not brilliant in High School, is a really nice girl and loves to take care of people and that she is soon to be a mother -_-;; the ultra taboo word >_<;; The mother-in-law was so incensed that she snatched the microphone away and screamed that all of Satomi's friends were worse than garbage! While Naoki has all along been feeling awkward and a trifle irritated at the mess Kotoko was putting herself into with her speech, when the mother-in-law insulted her, he immediately stood up with an annoyed look on his face directed at the mother-in-law! We can all safely assume that he was going to defend Kotoko's honour ^_^ However Satomi was a step faster and scolded the lady >_<;; Another clear indication of his feelings for Kotoko ^_^

Sighted at: Book 18 (Not a kiss but...)
Where: During the family BBQ session at the garden in the house.
When: While Kotoko was confronting Riko, Naoki's cousin, over who loves Naoki more.
Started by: Naoki.
Reason: This is not a kiss, but at this instance, Naoki actually confesses that he loves Kotoko. Actually, after Kotoko had flared up and proclaimed that even though she doesn't love Naoki as long as Riko had done, the depth of her love is so deep that it can never be compared. Then she ran off after saying that that was what she felt but unsure of what Naoki feels. Naoki then stated clearly to Riko that it was Kotoko's sheer determination in life that makes her attractive. She may not know much about anything, but it is this part of her that he loves most. And yes, he loves Kotoko more than Riko. Yay!

Sighted at: Book 18
Where: During the family BBQ session at the garden in the house.
When: After Kotoko has confronted Riko and ran off.
Started by: Naoki.
Reason: This actually follows from the above incident. After Kotoko ran off, she hid and cried against the wall. When Naoki caught up with her and asked her why she cried, she started blubbering and said things such as "Because Naoki may want to break up with me... and my tears started flowing after I thought of all the happy times we had together.. (Naoki heaves a big sigh at this instance. LoL!) and I've already made up my mind to be strong and survive on my own..." Then Naoki kisses her to shut her up! Naoki then said that he has never ever gave her cause to be so insecure. He reminded her that he chose her, so she should have greater confidence. Kotoko then replied yes but the depth of her love for him is much more than his for her... Naoki concluded "Yes, but..." But what?? Unfortunately Naoki doesn't elaborate. ^_~
