ELECTION OF NEW VILLAGE CHIEF (KETUA KAUM) KAMPUNG SKIBANG, BAU

The post of Kpg. Skibang village chief has long been vacant since the promotion of previous K.K. to a new post as a Penghulu for Jagoi Area. Three persons  (pic. above) were being proposed during their JKKK meeting to contest as the candidate for the new "Ketua Kampung". I was one of the invited person to witness the election. The election was conducted by the District office representative,SAO Davis Johea, Nain and Herman. Voting started at 4.30 pm. till 6.30pm. The process was brief and proper till the end. Voting slip was counted witnesses by the three candidates. The result,Michael Dosi was elected as the new Ketua kaum for Kpg. Skibang, Bau with a majority of 29 vote.

Michael Dosi took the stage for a few minutes to thanks the audience and his supporters and call for co-operation from the kampung folks to work together with him for the betterment of kampung Skibang. Two request was made from the floor to the victorious candidate.

1. Drinks during the occasion to be sponsored  by the newly elected Ketua Kaum.                                                                                                                          2. Kampung Generator to be shut down till 5.00am not at 10.00pm as usual for the night only.

Michael assured them, request granted and thanks them once again with a big applause from his supporters. Penghulu gave his closing speech and advice, and closed the function.

We were invited to Micheal Dosi House for a few drinks and BBQ..
