Chapter 13

Suri felt as cold sweat ran through his spine, again. His pulse was speeding, and his heart was beating so loud he wondered if she could hear it. However, Mercury remained where she was, looking through the window, clearly haven't noticing him yet. He was scared, scared of facing her, of seeing the hurt in her eyes, of falling in love with her again, of making a scene in front of everyone. Then, he realized something.

They were the only ones in the room! The big room was empty; the couple he had seen before had disappeared long ago. He looked at the two doors that lead to where they were, and saw they were widely open, but no one entered. The music could still be heard, but now it was low, more like a romantic background!

He gulped, and tried to back away from Mercury. But, something held him in place. A voice in his head, a voice he had heard before. It was Serenity's. Come on Zoisite! I can't hold my illusion forever!

Excuse me? Princess, what's going on?

Oh, Zoisite. You can be such fool sometimes. I'm helping you of course! I've set an illusion in this room. No one will enter until I command it, so you can solve your problems with her alone.

But, but I don't know what to say!

Talk to her from your heart, I'm sure she'll understand.

But, I'm not even myself. I'm this... guy, who has nothing to do with me. Could you tell Venus to get this spell off me?

Nope. This spell lasts for one hour. I guess you've got about twenty or thirty minutes left.

So, I just sit in here and wait?

No, you go and talk to her now!!

But, I'm not sure about this... she told me she didn't love me any longer…

She may have, but there's something you don't know yet.

What?

She has to tell you, not me! Now, come on, go!

I still think I should leave her alone.

Oh, Zoisite, look at her!

The General did, and saw her still looking through the window, but he saw something else too. She was holding something else too. It was pink, and little. He stepped a bit closer, trying to get a better view. Then, he recognized it. It was a rose. A pink rose. The one he had given to her a long time ago! He noticed that she was holding it over her heart, both of her hands clutching it tightly. Then, he heard Serenity's voice again: So, you still wanna leave, Zoisite? If you want I can break the illusion now, and you'll just go home.

Suri kept quiet. He was thinking hard, fighting with his own heart.

Zoisite? Are you still with me?

Yes, came his answer.

Ok, now, what did you...

I said yes!

What do you mean with that?

I'll talk to her, now!

Well done Zoisite! Now, I'll leave you two alone. Bye, and good luck!

Suri felt as Serenity's presence vanished from his head. He was left alone, standing there, with Mercury in front of him. He took a deep breath, and stepped forward.
