"Image Thieves"

There is no such thing as image thieves here at the palace. "Are you nuts??", you ask. No... My view on image "borrowing" is that no matter how hard you work on a picture, no matter how much you beg for people not to take your work without permission, it's going to happen anyway.

Here is my answer to this "problem". If you see a picture that you like on this site, take it....on two conditions. The first one, that if it's something that I got from someone else, that they obviously worked hard on, credit them. I can't tell you not to take something that isn't mine in the first place. Number two (not applicable yet)...I'm trying to get some money together to buy some Sailor Moon Artbooks, so I can scan some pictures, alter them, and put them on my page. I don't have a fancy schmancy graphics editor, so it's going to take a long time for me to figure out how to do something that I'm happy with. If you want one of THOSE pics, I ask that you email me telling what you're taking, with your site address (I want to know where my work is going), and that you also credit me on you site with a link, just a mention of my name, anything.

Under NO circumstances should a person take something from another person's page and try to pass it off as their own work! It REALLY pisses me off when that happens! How would you feel if you spent months perfecting your page, FINALLY get it up, then go surfing the next day and find out that someone stole all your hard work, put it on their page and tried to pass it off as thier own work?? THINK the next time you're tempted to "Save As"...

Thumbnails
This might seem like an odd topic to go on a rant about but I really hate those little things!! Not when they're in use, because thier purpose is to speed up the loading time of your page. But actually making the stupid little things is tedious!!! I understand why people fake thumbnails using height and width tags.

The thumbnail making process is really simple....you open a grapich in an image editor, resize it, and then save it under a different name! Easy, right? Well, after you've done about 10 or so of these things, you have to find and upload all those stupid little files onto your server. That and putting them on my page are what makes the process so tedious. That's why, if you look at my page right now, there aren't that many graphics. I have plenty of pictures but I'm too lazy to make the damn thumbnails!!!
