WHAT IS DRAGON BALL?
Dragon Ball was a manga (japanese comic) series that ran 42 volumes by the immensely talented artist Akira Toriyama (who also did the comic Dr. Slump and designs for the Dragon Warrior games, as well as designs for Chrono Trigger and Tobal No.1). It had 2 TV series, along with 16 movies and 2 TV specials. There are countless games for the Famicom, Super Famicom, Mega Drive, Saturn, PC Engine, and the Playstation , and litterly endless amounts of merchandise available. Now, a third series called Dragon Ball Grand Tour or Dragon Ball GT for short.
SO WHAT'S DRAGON BALL ABOUT?
Dragon Ball revolves around the legend that when the seven magical Dragon Balls are brought together, the dragon Sheng Long Will appear and grant the person responsible a wish. The main character, Son Goku, is based on Chinese legends of the Monkey god Son and his magical staff. The story follows Goku's life, and the friends and foes he encounters in his quests.
