Ruth's Rap Sheet
Happy New Year!

Although I'm not too thrilled with the commute (30 minutes drive with expensive parking options or 1 1/2 hour ride via public transportation...I'm still deciding), having good coworkers does help balance out the aggravations.
I hope this New Year will be a year of many blessings for you!.
2003 has been a year of trends, travels, and transitions for me.  Let me explain...

Travels - Driving, Flying, and the French, Oh My!
Trends - Being a Homebody...I wish
It has been *nine* years since I moved into 91A Spring Street.  Although it has been nice to have the place to myself, I am open for a roommate...so, if you know of any single Christian female looking for housing, please pass on the word.

Although I wish I could spend more time at home, I have found myself out and about. Lately, I am trying to bring the socializing home with my BYOB (Bring Your own Bowl) hotpot dinners.  I hope to invite you over.
2003 has been a year of many travel opportunities.  I am glad to say that none of my travels have been work-related.

In the early spring, I drove down to NJ to visit Tammy & Hsu Wei for their baby shower.  Immediately afterwards (like literally a day), I returned to Boston to fly down with Wendy to DC.  It has been a whirlwind experience.  While Wendy was attending a work seminar, I traipsed through many of the museums (e.g. Natural History) and memorials (e.g. Lincoln, Vietnam War, Korean War, etc.).

During the summer, I was quite impulsive to book a transatlantic flight with Maggie to Paris, France.  During our six day stay, we met Mona at the Louvre, Louis at Versailles, and Daniel at Montparnasse (feel free to ask Maggie about him...).   : )

In the fall, to avoid impending cold weather, I headed west to visit Angelina, Jack, Julianna, Eric, Steve, Winnie, and Tinyee in SoCal.  During that weekend, I also attended Pris & Dave's wedding near SF.
Trends - Disliking the work commute but content as a worker bee
Working two plus years in Partners Healthcare has been a pleasant experience to date.  I am currently figuring out how to design a bed management system for MGH's (Mass General Hospital) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) area.  Although it sounds daunting, I won't bore you with the details of the personnel politics and confusing business process workflow that make the project somewhat tedious at times.
