Ruth's 2002 Summer Update (Jul - Sep)
Hi Folks,

Just thought I would finally write up an update of what has been going on in my life.  Having been inspired by others and their informative and entertaining newsletters, it was time to just share some of the event highlights to date.

As you will note that I wanted to make this a quarterly update and I am already two updates behind for this year.  However, I figured it would be best to write one page for each of the quarters...so, if you start getting bored...you can always close down the page.

Now onto the Summer Update...
July
The summer has started and already I had places to go and people to see.

My friends and former Branch/College Fellowship co-advisors Angelina and Jack Lee returned from Southern California for a quick Fourth of July visit.  We had a nice BBQ at Stevie and Linda's in Norwood.

Over the same weekend, I partook a nice afternoon tea at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Eun Ju Kim graciously made the arrangements for the six of us (Amy, Bernice, Elaine, Eun Ju, Linda, and me) to enjoy a nice leisure afternoon.  We had our choices of tea and finger food.  We jokingly called it our "La Di Dah Affair" just because we dressed up for this occasion.  Regardless, I had a great time even if I had to look ultra feminine.  Below is a picture of us with all our food.
The rest of the weekend I hung out at Phil & Wendy Lin's home just catching up with the Lees and taking play-by-play pics of Kevin Lin's eating habits.  Here is the link:

I also did some shopping with Eun Ju and Angelina at Quincy Market and at Costco in Waltham.  Although I wondered if this would be fun for Angelina (since California has quite a number of Costco), it was the fellowship that made it all the more fun!  Here is a link of our shopping expedition:

Later in the month of July, I had the opportunity to hang out with my gal pal and co-worker Eun Ju yet again when we went off to visit her family and home town, province, and country - Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Just an hour flight from Boston, Halifax is a very green city.
I also finally had my chance to learn to play golf.  Although I did enroll in a golf course back in college, I chickened out.  Finally, in the privacy of a shed at Dr. Kim's driving range, I tried my hand in basically missing but occasionally hitting a few balls.

Over the same weekend Eun Ju and I visited Downtown Halifax and checked many of Eun Ju's favorite hangouts and met a couple of her friends.  On Sunday, we visited Peggy's Cove where it involved boulder climbing and hopping.  Normally, I would be jumping around like crazy, I had to play it safe with my digital camera, else, I would slam against a hard place plus a rock and none of you would be able to enjoy my pics.  Here is a link.
