Burning up the radio!
More music!!
Deliriou5 by Georgia
Hey, guys, “can you hear the sound that’s rising”? It’s Deliriou5! (Pronounced Delirious.)
Have you heard of this young English group? Their simple lyrics are clear, blunt and
relevant to the world today, and their hearts are on fire with love for Jesus. These guys
are seemingly walking forbidden ground; Deliriou5 has broken the impassable barrier into
THE SECULAR WORLD!!! and some of their songs are top-ten hits on the radio. You’d
never believe it, though, to hear the words in their songs. ‘White Ribbon Day’ has the
chorus, “Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, for white ribbon day.” Incredible, huh? And it’s
because people today are searching so hard for meaning in life; trying to find answers to
the big questions: Is there a God, why am I here, what will happen to me when I die, and
who ate my cookies? (Just kidding.) This group’s lyrics really hit home to an empty
generation. The lead singer, Martin Smith, has a intimate, sensitive voice with which he
speaks plainly the gospel in every song. Personally, I rate the Deliriou5 album, “King of
Fools”, a totally, totally, totally (*****) and more if I could. (Can you see I’m a bit taken with
their music?)
“Can you hear the new sound that’s rising?
From all the corners of the earth.
And young and old we stand together
Can you hear the praise?
It’s louder than the radio.”
Deliriou5 “Louder than the Radio”
on ‘King of Fools’
(Note: this is rated on the same basis that the regular music feature, Christian Music
for a Modern Age, is
rated: 1-5, one being worst.)
