top, left to right:
Haruko - Akagi's little sister. She is always cheerful and
determined. Sakuragi likes her very much although doesn't feel the
same for a friend. Her favorite sport is basketball and she
encouraged Sakuragi to join the team. She has a secret crush on
Rukawa. .
Ayako - The basketball team's manager. She's really beautiful
especially when wearing civilian clothes. She is strict and also
funny. Ryota has a crush on her although she don't feel the
same.
Rukawa - The team's rookie. He's fast and wise. He's also cute and
a silent type person. His favorite hobby is to sleep and to tease
Sakuragi. He wants to go and continue his training at America. But
Mr. Anzai don't want him to leave unless he is the best among the
best in Japan. He also said once that he studied in Shohoku because
it is near in his house.
Akagi
Takenori - The
gorilla of the team.He was defeated once
by Sakuragi by
doing a dirty trick. He is the team captain and he is way too
tall. He is strict and short tempered. He is also determined to win
all the way. He is only patient to Sakuragi.
From the middle, left to right:
Ryota - He came from the hospital and went back to the tem after
the practice game of Shohoku VS Ryonan. He is a rival to Sakuragi
for the first few meetings. After knowing each other's past, they
finally vibe to each other. He is the point guard of the team and he
is the smallest.
Mitsui - The worst rival of Ryota. His first appearance was a man
with along hair and no front teeth. He was before an MVP. But he got
injured and discontinued playing. Mr. Anzai inspired him back. He is
also the 3 pt shooter of the party.
Hanamichi
- The worst
complainer in the team. He is also a teaser who calls out code names
which doesn't sound good. He learned really fast and even made a
beautiful dunk shot! He was first in bench and later became a
regular player. He calls himself as genius and Sakuragi, the
basketball man. He is also the King of Rebound.
Sendoh - Ryonan's ace. He is funny and wise. He is also fast. His
counterpart is Rukawa. He has more fans and more popular. He is also
silent and simple.
From the bottom, left to right:
Maki
- From the pride
team of Kainandai High. He is the team captain and who is always
serious. He is always focused and still interested to watch other
games. He is really tough and incomparable.
Mr. Anzai
- The old time
Demon of Shohoku. He is silent and always laughing. He is the coach
of the Shohoku Basketball Team. He is kind and understanding.
Sakuragi is sort-of close to him because he can put a lot of prank
in him.
Uozumi
- The captain of
Ryonan. He is the counterpart of Akagi. He was before weak and easy
to fall. But then his coached trained him well. As the coach, he is
determined and serious. After being defeated, he became a chef and
continued his father's business.
Kogure - Glassman.
He is like the story teller of the team. He is the vice captain of
the party. In the last game, his memories flashes back and he made a
3 pt. Shot. He knows others' past and shares it with the others.
