Angelique Shiroi Tsubasa no Memoir OAV 1
If you had to choose between being Queen of the Universe or living happily ever after with your choice from among a harem of hottie bishounen angel men, what would you chose?
Angelique, Shiroi Tsubasa no memoir (the memory of white wings), is one of a series of OAV based off of a cult popular video game that evolved into manga, drama cds, and later anime. We all know about the dating simulation games where a guy player gets to chose from a number of attractive and spunky females, "dating" them and winning them over to win the game. Angelique is one such game, only the tables are turned, now one girl gets to choose from many hottie angel men! This OAV is based off of the manga and dating simulation games of the same name and features the adventures of Angelique, a lovely young woman, fighting against her rivals for the position of High Queen as well as the affections of the angel men. In this OAV you have all the guardians from the RPGs as well as the instructors that appeared in the later games. In total there are 15 different attractive men to gaze upon, and at least 1 guy with two different forms. What I've seen of this is very promising. There is no end of eye candy, the voice actors are well known and wonderful, and the plot has promise. The animation is nothing short of spectacular. Tanoshimi ni!

I sponsored this title from someone last June, and after many promises of eventual release, I have decided to take matters into my own hands. I will be subbing this OAV and OAV 2 with an estimated release date of August. These will be subbed using the DVD source

Versailles no Bara
(Rose of Versailles)
Written by the ever talented Riyoko Ikeda (the same writer who created Onisama e), Versailles no Bara, or Rose of Versailles, is a classic anime that forever changed the shoujo world. Many believe it may have been one of the inspirations for the ever popular Shoujo Kakumei Utena. Known all over the world as "Lady Oscar," Versailles no Bara is a series that continues to capture the imagination of anime fans.
This is the story of Oscar, a woman raised and educated by her father as a boy and future soldier. At a young age she becomes leader of the French guard and soon becomes the personal bodyguard for the young Princess Marie Antoinette. We follow along on her journey of self discovery, adventure, and passion as Oscar finds herself deeply involved in the circumstances leading up to the French Revolution--finding herself torn between her feelings for the revolutionary movement and her loyalty to the royal house.

Quality copies of this series are very scarce--but that is not the only thing that provoked me to remaster this series. I want the anime world to rediscover this amazing tale--a series marked as being, by far, Ikeda's most memorable work.

Sponsorship for vol 1 is closed but vol 2 and 3 still have many slots. The number of sponsors I take for this will depend entirely on how much fan response I recieve. Don't worry, If I don't get enough sponsors I'm still going to do this project. Sponsorship will be $30 for a VHS master and $40 for a SVHS master

STATUS: Project put on hold. Will continue when I return from Japan. First three volumes should be completed in July 2002. Translations complete, editing and timing in process for vol 1-3. Still taking sponsors for vol 2 and 3.

Yami no Matsuei
As investigators of un-natural deaths, Tsuzuki, Hisoka, and their team can freely walk between the realm of the living and the dead. Unable to die, quick to heal, and powerful in the mystical arts, many call these men Shinigami--Angels of Death.
A new cult favorite, this series, based of a popular comic of the same name published in "Hana to Yume," is soon gaining a popularity to parallel the fame of "Angel Sanctuary." With beautiful animation, a thrilling story line, a buffet of hottie undead bishounen, wicked cool magic, and theme songs that rock their way into your soul--this show is appealing to both men and women. While the target is mainly to the shoujo audience, this series' unique combination of "Vampire Princess Miyu" style intrique mixed with a healthy dose of comedy is enough to capture the imagination of even the most jaded anime fan. I fell in love with it at first sight--and after watching the first volume, there was no turning back, no way I couldn't sub it.
STATUS: This series is completely mastered. I will be sending masters out to my sponsors and distributors very soon.

Gravitation

Sometimes, you really can't choose who you fall in love with...

Shindou Shuichi, lead singer of the rock group "Bad Luck," was about to have his big break. Then, one day, while writing a song, he runs into the devistatingly handsome Eiri Yuki, famous author. Telling Shuichi that his poetry is crap, he walks away cooly.
Shuichi had no choice but to fall head-over-heels in love.
Based in the shounen-ai manga by the ever talented Maki Murakani, Gravitation is a series following the love affair of Shuichi and Yuki. This is a complicated story, even more so when you don't understand what they are saying, which is one of the major reasons why I want to sub this. I want those fans out there with less than above average Japanese knowledge to enjoy this series.
