Well, now that Lee-hom’s finally completed his studies, he’d now have more time on his hands to focus on his budding career as a recording artiste.

Formerly from Decca Records, Lee-hom has since committed to a new contract with a new recording label, Sony Music. And Lee-
hom’s debut project with them, is none other than the currently-
released album, Revolution

Here in Singapore recently to promote the album, Lee-hom proved to be a personable and forthright boy-next-door, with a deep passion for music.

We sample some choice quotes from him at his media conference, held sometime last week in Singapore.

On alleged rumours of him dating Coco Lee..
"First it was Mavis Fan, then Shunza, and now Coco Lee! I really think that these rumours are quite uncalled for. The only time I've come into contact with these girls is cos of work, and just because I’m chatting with any one of them a little more doesn’t mean that we’re dating. But I do think that all these rumours do make my life more interesting - anything can happen in this line, yeah? So long as what is being said doesn’t hurt anyone, I won’t care too much about the rumours, I mean everyone knows they're nothing but rumours!"

On his taste in women.
"I appreciate women who are bigger than life. I admire those who are more independent and confident. But I really can’t imagine myself being attached to anyone right now, cos I’m traveling and moving around too much."

On his ex-girlfriend.
"We were together for two years and she’s someone I still think of occasionally. We were studying in the same schools, till university when she left for Princeton and I went to Williams College. She was a soprano and I used to be so mesmerized by her voice when we acted in the same musicals. She has since become a full-
fledged, professional opera singer now, and I’m giving her my utmost support."

On his musical aspirations.
"I am aware of how lucky I am. Many of my classmates are envious of the fact that I’ve got an outlet to use what I’ve learnt. I could pick up something about Jazz in school and when I’m writing songs for my newest album, I could use the knowledge in a practical way. Honestly, I hesitated for a long time before I decided to pursue music in college. My parents, being the conservative sort, had preferred me to take medicine instead, just like my brother. I do appreciate and understand their concern, after all, I have picked a path that’s rather unconventional. But I’m happy to say that I’m not regretting my decision as yet. I can't imagine myself committed to any other profession."

When he’s not writing or singing a song...
"I don’t read much, unless it’s album sleeves you’re talking about! Books and magazines put me to sleep after a couple of pages. But I’m better with movies, I try to watch as many films as possible. I’m the sort who’s easily touched, that’s why even though Armageddon’s a little corny harping about 'the end of the world', I still like it pretty much, especially its theme track "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith. Other than this, I spend the rest of my time going to the gym, and doing all sorts of sports like playing rugby, baseball and even going para-sailing once in a while."
