He was too late. Parasurama had already given away all his material possessions but could not turn away a brahmana who'd came to him in search of alms.
``Will you accept my teaching, O Brahmana, as there is nothing else I have to offer you?,'' he asked Drona.
Drona, of course, gladly agreed. Parasurama was the greatest of the warriors. He had taught his skills to Bhishma who became such a great warrior that he made the name of the Bharatas feared throughout the world.
Thus it was that Drona, who was already a good archer, mastered the military arts. He had gotten the greatest of Parasurama's possessions.
