Boosted Weapons
Boosted Weapons-
A creative use of weapon design of placing the capability of multiple
power settings on a single weapon system, without using E-pools or the
multi-flex system can be done by extending a basic weapon design.
This is done by taking a basic weapon system and just adding on
'booster unit' to the design. This booster unit would often have a
limiting category to make the weapon less expensive then just the
combined abilities of the base and the extended parts of the weapon
would indicate. Examples are presented below. Please let me know
what you think of my creativeness in optional possible weapon
design. :)
Example 1: Beam blaster with limited extended power blasting
Base unit:
Beam weapon Range:8 WA+1 Dmg:4k CP:6 Extension:
Beam weapon Dmg:+4k 3 shots Limitation CP:4.2 Combined Mode:
Beam weapon Range:11 WA+1 Dmg:8k CP:10.2
Cost of combined mode bought alone: 8.4cp (for a 8k LS:3 weapon)
What I have just built here is a single weapon that can use it's 4k
mode infinitely, but it can fire up to three power boosted shots.
After the three boosted shots are used up, then the weapon can only
fire in standard mode.
Example 2: Beam blaster with W-UT high power blast. Base Unit:
Beam weapon Range:8 WA+1 Dmg:4k CP:6 Extension:
Beam weapon Dmg:+4k WUT:3 turns CP:3.6 Combined Mode:
Beam weapon Range:11 WA+1 Dmg:8k CP:9.6
Cost of combined mode bought alone: 7.2cp (for a 8k wut3 weapon)
This second example lets the weapon fire at standard mode at any time.
But up to once every three turns, the weapon has charged enough energy
to perform an increased power blast of double the standard power
output.
Example 3: Beam blaster with Wide angle extension
Base unit:
Beam weapon Range:8 WA+1 Dmg:4k CP:6
Extension:
added Wide angle fire:1hex 1 shot CP:+3
Combined Mode:
Beam weapon Range:8 WA+1 Dmg:4k Wide angle CP:9
Cost of combined mode bought alone: 6cp (for a one shot WA:hex weapon)
This third example lets the basic weapon fire as many times as needed
and has additional power capacitors to fire the wide angle blast once
a battle. After the blast is fired, the weapon only may fire in
standard mode.
