                       Molly's Birthday

                         Chapter One

     " Look at them. All hanging around her. Never leaving her alone. It's like they're her personally 
body guard or something! And she doesn't even care. She doesn't even notice me anymore. It's
always Ami this or Lita that or how Mina this and how Rei that! ALWAYS THEM! THEM! THEM! 
     " What about me? What have they got that I don't? What is so special about them? Don't you remember
the good times that we've had together? Everything was perfect until that day...That day when they...those girls...
one by one, they took you from me. And now, I'm nothing. Just some old friend you used to have. Used to have...
All used up and forgotten. Forgotten....Forgotten....." A girl with red hair thought to herself, as she looked 
at her blonde friend who was surround by four other girls. She was talking and laughing at some joke that they had said. 

      " Hey, Mol! Are you alright?" the blonde girl asked. Serena had got up from her seat when she saw Molly
      standing by herself. 

      " Yeah, Sere. I'm alright. Just had something in my eye." Molly said quickly.

      " Are you sure?" The blonde said unconvinced.

      " Serena, do you know what day next Saturday is?" Molly suddenly asked shyly.

      " Hmm....let's see...It's not Lita's special cake day. No, I don't have to go over
        to Ami's study session....Hmmmm..." The blonde mumbled on. 

      Molly's face fell.

      " Oh, I remember! It's the first day that the new Sailor V. movie is coming out! I just
        can't wait! I promised Mina that I'd go see it with her! She just loves Sailor V.!" Serena giggled. 

     " So, you did forget. You're going to see a movie with you "new" best friend...ha! What a joke!" Molly thought bitterly. She was
       ready to cry, but she wouldn't cry. Not now anyway.

     "Serena, I gotta go. Bye!" Molly ran from her friend quickly before the burning tears threatened to fall.

     " Mol! Wh--" Serena stopped. " I wonder what's wrong with Molly...Hmm... Oh well, maybe it was a bad test."

     She walked back to her friends. Never realizing how hurt her red haired friend was. 

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Next Day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    " Hey, Andrew! How's it going!" Serena waved to her friend.

    " Yo, Sere.! Nothing much. U?" Andrew asked.

    Before Serena could answer, a deep voice said from behind her.

    " Hey, Meatball head! Let me guess, you failed another test right? Ha ha!" Darien smirked.

    " Ooooo! Leave me alone, BAKA! Gosh, just one day, I'd like for you to just...just DISAPPEAR!" Serena yelled.

    " Oh, I'm so hurt!" Darien sarcastically. 

    " Bright man, real bright! Now she's going to hate you even more." Darien thought to himself.

    As if reading his mind Serena said, " You know, Darien. Yesterday, I was just thinking about who I hated most
in the world. I tried to make a list, but I couldn't think of anyone I hated. But then....one person popped into
my head! And guess who it was?" Serena asked.

    Darien winced.

    " You! Sheesh! I didn't think I could hate anyone before I met you! Guess I was WRONG!" She finished.

    Darien just stood there shocked as the words cut into his heart like knives.

     " So, Serena. What are you going to do this weekend? Hey, isn't it one of you're friends birthday? What's
her name?" Andrew said trying to change the subject as he saw the queer look on his friends face.

    At the mention of "birthday", Serena's angry face turned into a face with "panic" written all over it. 

    " Oh NO! #$%*&! It's Molly's birthday this Saturday and I--Oh What am I gonna do!" Serena jumped out of her
stool and started to pace around completely ignoring everything and everyone. 

    " Oh my! Little Meatball head forgot her BEST friend's birthday! Hahaha!" Darien laughed after recovering
from her harsh words..

    " Shut up! How would you feel if a friend forgot your birthday? Or do you not have one? Ooops! 
How stupid of me! I completely forgot that Mr. Jerk here doesn't have any "friends"!" Serena shot back.

    Darien's face flushed with angry and pain. For once he actually shut up.

    " I'm gonna kill myself! What kind of friend am I?" Serena wailed . " I gotta go!" 

    " Come on, Dar. Don't look like that! You know, you deserved it! You said 
some pretty nasty words to her!" Andrew said as Serena left.

    " I know, I know! It's just that-" Darien stopped.

    " You like her, don't ya?" Andrew suddenly realized.

    " WHAT? MEATBALL HEAD? No WAY!" Darien denied quickly, but not before a light blush reached his cheeks.

    " I knew it! Come on buddy! You can't hide from you pal, Andrew!" He laughed.

    " No, I don't! How can you even say that?!" Darien said.

    " Okay, okay. I'm sorry. It's a shame you don't though. I mean just yesterday she told me how she liked you and
didn't understand why you were so mean to her." Andrew said slyly.

    " You mean it?" Darien's face lit up like a Christmas candle.

    " I KNEW IT! HAHA!" Andrew said.

    " Keep your voice down! Okay, okay, so what if I think she's a little cute. It's nothing big But did she really say that?" Darien asked.

    " Just a little cute? Well, I happen to think she's beautiful. Did you check out her legs lately? Oh and her-" He was cut off by a 
jealous Darien almost screaming.

    " What?! You've been checking her out! You already have a girlfriend!" 

    " Ha! You, Darien Chiba is totally head-over-heels in love with Serena! No wonder you tease her so much! How could I have not seen it
before? Everything makes sense now!" Andrew said.

    " FINE! So what if I am? I'm single, you're not!" Darien declared.

    " Huh? Oh, that! I was just kidding! But I've got you to admit your feelings now, didn't I?" Andrew said happily.

    " Okay, yes you did. Now did she really say those words?" Darien asked.

    " Well, um...not...exactly." Andrew mumbled.

    " Oh, so she does hate me." Darien said sadly. " I don't blame her."

    " She doesn't hate you! Maybe she does already like you. I'm not exactly her best friend. Maybe 
she likes you, but just didn't tell me because she's afraid that I might say something to you." Andrew 
suggested trying to cheer Darien up. "Say something nice to her next time. I mean,
you're always so hard on her."

    " I can't. I mean, I try and all, but every time I try to say something nice, it comes out
wrong. And now, she hates me!" 

    " No she doesn't. This is Serena we're talking about! She hates no one! Come on. Try 
to be nice? Okay?" 

    " I'll try. Hey, I gotta go. See you tomorrow." Darien said.

    " Wait, now that I think about it. Do you come here every day to see me? Or to see Serena?" Andrew said slyly.

    " To see you of course!" Darien's face became a little more than red.

    " Ha! Now I'm hurt" Andrew gave a puppy face. Before Darien could say anything, he burst into 
fits of laughter.

    " You're too much." Darien said shaking his head as he left the arcade.
