I've created a new Desktop Companion for all you Ragnarkers out there. Download it here! Instructions included.

Note: RSMView is now known as Ragcam. Voodoo users can now use Ragcam! Download 3dfx's OpenGL wrapper here and extract it into the same folder as Ragcam. There is a HUGE speed increase for Voodoo cards,as it bypasses Micro$oft's slow software mode. The downside is that you don't get the fog effect using this wrapper. (It was created during the last days of 3dfx) If you're not using Voodoo, you don't need this.

Hmm. An exact month since my last updates. I've been hooked on Ragnarok Online. For those who've been hiding in their bunkers these past few years, its the most Massively Multiplayer Online RPG. Its sweet.

Anyhow, I found a utility that lets you view the town and field maps of Ragnarok,as well as the individual 3D models that are found throughout the game. It was... functional but lacked user friendliness. Luckily, the source code was freely available and even more luckily(?), I was able to modify it to my taste. Here it is, the Ragnarok World Viewer. Take a different perspective on Ragnarok... :)

Download: RSMView and GrfExtract

Please read the instructions, and make sure you have a good 3D card, the Ragnarok installer, 1.4GB free hard disk space, 128MB RAM, and a fast CPU.

PSMem

PSMem is a program I wrote that allows you to view and edit memory cards. It also has a unique search feature that allows you to look for a particular savegame INSIDE memory cards! The search feature will look through all the memory cards in a folder, and match a savegame against data you are looking for. Useful if you can't remember where a savegame was stored.

A must for Playstation emulator fans. Try it out and tell me what you think!

System requirements
OS: Windows 98/ME
Support: Visual Basic 6.0 runtime library

Download Direct Pad Pro

Direct Pad Pro is a device driver that allowws you to connect gamepads from consoles to your PC! Best of all, since its a Windows device driver, all games that support DirectX will support your gamepad as well! Isn't it a pain in the neck installing another game port? Direct Pad Pro has Multiplayer support! In addition a wide variety of console gamepads are supported. The only drawback is, you have to make the interface yourself, and the interface plugs into the parallel port.

System requirements
OS: Windows 98/ME
Memory: 32MB
Support: DirectX
Peripherals: Direct Pad Pro interface for the gamepad you are using.

Download Connectix Virtual Game Station 1.4.1 (Full Version)

Connectix VGS is a Playstation emulator. It is so far the best commercial emulator for the playstation on the market today. Many games now work on VGS 1.41, although a patch is needed to play some games like Final Fantasy 9.

System requirements
OS: Windows 98/ME
System: Pentium or compatible 233 MHz with L2 cache
Memory: 32MB
Support: DirectX 6.1 or better. Doesn't supprt 3D acceleration, yet.
Peripherals: ATAPI compatible CD-ROM. 8MB video cards for good performance.

Download VGS Video Patch

An unofficial patch that allows VGS to be "resized" to reduce pixelization. This works by changing the screen resolution but keeping the game screen size the same. This results in a smaller game screen. It also has patches to run PAL games, and FF9. The FF9 patch can be used for many other games, such as Front Mission 3.

System requirements
Needs: VGS 1.41

Download PSMPlay - Playstation Media Decoder

PSMPlay is a utility for decoding data off your standard Playstation discs. PS games usually have pictures, videos, and sound recordings encoded in them, and this utility allows you to view these files on your PC.

PSMPlay also supports Final Fantasy 8 and 9 formats, so yo can finally watch Rinoa to your heart's content. A must for cheaters who can't wait to see the ending video, game music lovers, and hacker types who love "cool" things.

System requirements
OS: Windows 98/ME
System: a decent 133
Memory: 16MB
Support: DirectX 6.1 or better.
Peripherals:ATAPI compatible CD-ROM.

Download SCPH-1001 - Playstation BIOS

The Playstation BIOS. Required for various PS emulators.

OS: Sony Playstation :)
Support: ePSXe, PSEmu Pro, FPSE, AdriPSX
