Seiko's fourth album produced two more hit singles, "Shiroi Parasoru" and the title track, "Kaze Tachi Nu." The "B-side" of the Shiroi Parasoru single, "Hana Hitoiro-Nokiku," is intereresting for several reasons. First, it is closer to the dramatic ballads of Japanese mainstream popular music than JPOP. Second, it stands in stark contrast to the light, upbeat style of "Shiroi Parasoru." Finally, it shows that even at this very early stage of her career, Seiko had not surrendered to one style. While her voice still sounds very "young," she is reaching for a level of maturity uncommon in a "JPOP" star.
The song "Kaze Tachi Nu" shows the growth in confidence that Seiko had experienced since her first single. This is a full, orchestral arrangement...and yet Seiko's voice remains the centerpiece. She is not overpowered by the volume or intensity of the music. She stands her ground and delivers an intense performance that hinted at the future.
You can find selected songs from "Kaze Tachi Nu" on the following Bible collections: Bible II (Kaze Tachi Nu)...Bible III (Issen Ichibyou Monogatari)...Complete Bible (Shiroi Parasoru, Hana Hitoiro-Nokiku, Kaze Tachi Nu, Romance).
