Name: Haruka Minato
The beautiful woman among the girls.

Minato was the secretary of a president (whether government or corporation is beyond me, but her emploter was up there) before she was hired by Negral for the position of helmsman (woman?  Damn pc) of the Nadesico.  Called a sleepyhead by Ruri (it's true), she does rather stay in bed than do nothing is there is nothing to do, no enemies to fight, no planet atmospheres to go through.

As a woman, though, she has an adult charm and outlook on life that her fellow bridge bunnies cannot share.  Hell, someone who flaunts her body has to, ya'know?

Her lovelife on the Nadesico (thank God) does not evolve around Tenkawa Akito.  The question would be, why would she spend her time chasing him when there are bigger fish she can catch.

The first big fish is Gort Holy.  The large man has a soft spot for, and, in the Christmas episode (ep. 13), he even offers her the choice of a better, safer desk job serving the military than on the Nadesico, where anything can happen to her.  He wants to protect Minato from the hazards of war, but she refused the cop-out.  She, like everyone else, belonged on the Nadesico, for better or worse, and was going to stay.

After this, their romance hit the rocks, and someone new enters Minato's life.
