Characters
The following is a list and brief description of the main characters in this show. I may or may not spelled their names correctly, for there were no written documents on this show or the name of the characters. They are ordered by their organization alignment.
Interestingly, this show includes some extraterrestials in some of the episodes. Although, they're not major characters, it's notable to at least mention them.
NOTE: All five of the Thunderbird members have attained the rank of Captain and they're all very athletic and intelligent, an all around combination.
International Rescue Organization
- Dylan Beyda (Veyda/Beta?)
A black haired member of the Thunderbird. There were no indication of what race he is, but he seems to me to look like an asian kid. He's perhaps the youngest, and the most daring Thunderbird member. In many of the episodes, he always seems to be smart, cocky, competitive, and initiates most of the actions, yet cool, responsible and rational. He would always do something that he feels is right not just for himself, but for the good of others. Another attribute that should be noted is that he's very loyal to his friends and team members. It is interesting that he's probably the epitome of good characters, for he's not capable of shooting or wounding an unequally armed villain. He is always sent to the most dangerous mission, and always makes it out all the time. He has a younger brother named Danny, and Skipper always hangs around with him almost as if he's his role model. On the lighter side, Dylan occassionally flirts with girls, but it is safe to say that his love is really Kallan. His primary vehicle is the TB-1.
- Jesse Rigel
A red haired cowboy from Houston, Texas. Jesse has a very obvious Texan accent. He's portrayed as a character that respects and obeys authority. On two separate occassion Dylan angers him and caused Jesse to threaten to report Dylan to Commander Simpson. However, he values his friendship very much and always ended up doing a favor for his friends. He's not as cocky as Dylan,
and always acts intelligently and rationally. In many of the missions, he's constantly paired up with J.J as the "Dynamic Duo." His primary vehicle is the TB-2.
- Jonathan Jordan Jr.
Nicknamed J.J, he's the only African American member of the team. His voice makes him seems to be a Jamaican. He's probably viewed as the most laidback member of the Thunderbirds. It seems that he wants to be shown as a character that can have fun at his job and makes the best out of things. During emergency calls, he always surfs on his flying board, which can be dangerous at times. His favorite hobby is perhaps dancing in discotheques and listening to music. He's always paired up together with his buddy, Jesse, as the "Dynamic Duo." His primary vehicle is the TB-2.
- Grant Hanson
The oldest, middle aged member of the team. He's the team leader of the Thunderbird captains. Always acting rationally and believes in teamwork no matter the cost or situation. Grant is almost like a father figure for the Thunderbird team. He also have a family of his own (a wife and a daughter), which seems to tore him apart. It is safe to say that he loves his family very much, but sadly his family doesn't know it. In the episodes it was never indicated whether he solved his personal problems or not. Although it is implicated that he will solve it. His primary vehicle is the TB-3.
- Kallan James
The only blond haired female member of the team. Some of her role is being a diplomat due to her tactful characteristics. Sometimes she's given the task to supervise some emergency projects and is sent to missions which requires many communications. She's perhaps the most caring and concerned member of theteam, especially to Dylan, since she loves him. Her primary vehicle is
the TB-4.
- Commander Jared Simpson
The commander of the Thunderbird. He seems to take very great pride of his team. He also always takes good care of his team and will take great responsibility of his actions. He operated from the International Rescue's Organization Arcology.
- Skipper Simpson
Nephew to commander Simpson. Always like to hang around the Thunderbird team. It seems that Dylan is his role model and best friend. Aspire to someday join the Thunderbird squad.
Shadow Axis
- General "Star Crusher"
The only continous villain of the show. He's the leader of the Shadow Axis, and it is not known what his appearance is. It is possible that he could be either a mad cyborg or another extraterrestial being, because he refers human as earthmen.
Extraterrestials
- "Red Comet"
A probe from distant star system, in search of a red giant sun for energy. It has traveled from system to system for at least 200,000 earth years. It is benevolent in nature.
- "Lunar Spirit"
Ancient spirits, portrayed as pink gas clouds. It was trapped under special lunar crystals under a crater on the darkside of the moon for billion of years. Able to possess host body and evil in nature.
- The Pluto Visitors
A higher being which requires no physical form. It has traveled from systems to systems to determine whether other sentient races are a threat to them. It seems to follow the "Lex Talionis" rule for each sentient beings.
