Kansai International - KIX

Introduction

Designed by Italian Architect, Renzo Piano, and built completely reclaimed rectangular island in the Osaka Bay, Kansai International Airport was built to accomodate the increasing air traffic for Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka. This airport boasts the longest roof in the world. Its strategic location made it possible to become Japan's first 24-hours round the clock airport. However, its location also poses a new problem: how to keep the island from sinking.

The airport without a doubt has a cool design. However, the number of shops is quite limited inside the waiting area. For sightseeing, the airport has an Observation Hall, in which visitor has view directly in front of the runway! To access the airport, there are three ways: by car, by train, or by high speed ferry.
