San Francisco International - SFO

Introduction

Designed by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM) , this airport was opened sometime around the turn of the 21st Century. This airport is one of my personal favorites in the United States. This airport contains many modern/futuristic design elements. The roof, notably shapes like an airplane wing, evokes a sense of freedom and excitement of flying.

As for the facilities in the terminal, most of the shops are inside the North and South Terminal and they are relatively few. The terminal is also connected to the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), allowing passengers to conveniently travel to and from the city center. The high ceiling however makes lighting difficult in the evening.
