z00mer's quality mp3s is now only a trade site! It was fun while it lasted and my thanks to all of you who took the time to send me a kind e-mail, send me something on my want list or just took the time to drop by and leech.

I highly recommend everyone join mp123 which is a sweet way to trade mp3s. My list is available there as well. This search box makes it easy and fast (pardon the color clash).

Take care and happy leechin'!

The History of z00mer's. (or "what's up with the cheese?")

From the beginning, z00m er felt there was a vast void in the mp3 universe. Where was all the GOOD music? What about the stuff we heard in the days of early MTV? The PARTY CLASSICS? Thus, in 1998, z00mer's quality mp3s became a reality to fill this void. He dedicated his life to giving the masses the best in music the rest of the mp3 world had swept under the rug.

As the z00mer quality archive was building, z00mer quickly discovered that he could not classify the kind of music he had in the archive. Was it pop? rock? punk? oldies? dance? new wave? retro? Yes, it was music he partied to in the 1980's, but there had to be a better name to classify this type of music.

z00mer then searched the endless boundaries of the internet and finally discovered that indeed there was a classification for such music. This classification had been around since the pyramids and, though not commonly accepted among the people as "proper music" it had a strong following by those who have partied throughout history. The name of this type of music is
CHEESY.

There were many examples of cheesy music use throughout history. Early Egyptians actually wore cheese on their heads while performing rutualistic dances to cheesy music. Leonardo da Vinci was a noted cheesy music lover as seen in this early painting of the Mona Lisa. Mona asked for the cheese to be removed on the final painting though we feel she obviously smiled at Leonardo's gesture.

Though samples of cheesy music has been around throughout history, it made it's largest comeback during the early days of MTV. Here, cheesy saw a renaissance. It rose to new heights because music became visual! No matter how goofy the video, the world partied to this music as they had never partied before! Note that even the ritual of wearing cheese upon the head made a huge return in certain areas of the country such as Wisconsin!

In the late 1980's, the appeal of this music began to fade. The masses had grown tired of cheesy music and moved onto responsible adulthood. They laughed at the music. Though a few cheesy tunes arise even today, the genre is nearly totally gone.

Though all of the tunes in the z00mer quality archive are not cheesy, we feel the need to make every effort to enlighten the world to this quality, tho cheesy, music that was such a part of our younger days. Enjoy and leech away!

Egyptians wore cheese upon their heads while listening to cheesy music. This practice was resurrected in the 1980's by many who lived in the Mid-Western U.S.
Leonardo da Vinci may have been a major contributor to the Renaissance Cheese Era.
