Tsukino Usagi, the protagonist of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon, makes her appearance as the clumsy, rash, and whiny junior high school student of Juuban Junior High. She is your average teenager; she's constantly late for school, would rather play video games than do homework, and loves her friends. But, Usagi is not an average teenage girl. She is the protectress and princess of the Moon, agent of love and justice, Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon. She risks her life countless times to protect her loved ones and her pure heart radiates love and the belief in others; good and evil. As a schoolgirl, Usagi is irresponsible and lazy, but she is the friend everyone can rely on and love, because she believes in them. As a senshi she sticks by her guns, and would do anything to protect her friends. One of the beautiful parts of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon is seeing Usagi bloom and mature, and seeing as friendships grow. Many people assume Usagi and Rei hate each other, because they are constantly in arguements, but in fact they are the closest of friends. Evolution As the seasons go on, Sailormoon's strength grows and her attacks become more powerful. Here is a run through of Sailormoon's transformations and attacks.
This attack is used mainly in the first season of Sailormoon, and very occasionaly in Sailormoon R. This is her first attack. She takes the tiara from her forehead and throws it at the enemy like a frisbee. Moon Tiara Stardust Another attack mostly the same as the above. Moon Healing Escalation Used in Sailormoon R to return possessed people to normal. She uses her pendant to do this, but I seem to remember her using her wand at one point too... Moon Princess Halation Another of Sailormoon's attacks from Sailormoon R. Moon Scepter Elimination This has the same effect as the Moon Tiara Action, but it's more powerful. Sailormoon uses this attack when her tiara didn't work. Cosmic Moon Power This is a fall back attack Sailormoon uses if Moon Scepter Elimination doesn't work. Moon Spiral Heart Attack Sailormoon uses this after receiving her new Spiral Moon Rod in Sailormoon S. It shoots out a spiral of hearts that gets the bad guys. One part I always wondered about was why most of the shouted "Lovely" at being defeated. O.o; Rainbow Moon Heart Ache This attack is pretty much the same as the above, but it destroys the more powerful daimon and Death Busters. Moon Gorgeous Meditation Her attack used in Sailormoon SuperS to destroy the villains. Using her Moon Kaleidoscope, she sends out a colorful beam of light which did the trick. Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss Eternal Sailormoon uses this attack to return the phages to regular people. In the anime, she gets Tin Nyanko only half pure again, and it looks pretty cool. :D Moon Prism Power, Make Up! Sailormoon Moon Crystal Power, Make Up! Sailormoon R Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up! Sailormoon S Crisis, Make Up! Sailormoon S/Sailormoon SuperS Moon Eternal Make Up! Sailormoon Stars Opinionated Usagi is one my favorite characters from Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon (though I prefer her personality in the manga to that in the anime). Her journey from a scared little girl to a brave young woman is touching, and sometimes, humorous. her strength within herself and belief in others is mind boggling and beautiful. Every time it has been Usagi's conviction that all people are good that has saved everyone. Any fan of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon who sees her as merely a crybaby has not paid much attention to her character at all. |
