Introduction



Yuuri, a normal 15 year old girl is summoned to the Hittites' empire in ancient Turkey to be sacrified by a selfish queen who wants Yuuri's blood to make her son heir to the throne.. Shinohara-sensei combines fantasy, drama, romance, and humor in this story to make a wonderful shoujo epic.

The first chapter
The story starts out in what could be a cute ending to a typical shoujo romance story; Yuuri's first kiss with a cute and caring guy, Himuro. Yuuri's life is pretty happy. However, one day, she notices something so eerie, she almost doesn't believe it. Hands that come out from water attempt to pull Yuuri away from  her world. Luckily, she manages to fight their grasp and is fine for the moment. No one quite believes Yuuri, but as this happens a few times she decides that it would be better to stay away from water as much as possible for a while. So Yuuri is out with her new boyfriend Himuro, walking through a park. It just snowed and the park is beautiful. Yuuri steps on the slush next to Himuro, splashing a bit. Hands come up and grab Yuuri once again. She tries to fight back and call Himuro, but she's grabbed quickly and with more force.

Yuuri finds herself underwater. She desperately swims up to the surface, gets out of the water, and... finds herself in a completely different place, in a bathing thingamajig with people in strange, foreign, and certainly not modern clothes. The people aroung her are instantly suspicious. They speak a foreign toungue and start to chase after her. Yuuri runs out of the building, outside where soldiers start to chase her. Yuuri runs up some stairs on the outside of a building. She runs up to the top, where she gets a view of the entire city: a strange, foreign, ancient place, like no other she's seen before. "Where am I??" Yuuri cries out, frightened. The narrator informs the reader that she is trapped in the Hittites' empire in 14th century BC. With this, the story begins.
