WELCOME TO SHONAR BANGLA - THE GOLDEN BENGAL - MY HOMELAND

I was born in Bangladesh.It is a very beautiful country.It lies between latitudes 20 degrees and 27 degrees north and longitudes 88 degrees and 93 degrees east.Except for bamboo-forested hills in the southeast, mostly an alluvial plain with network of navigable rivers: the eastern arms of the Ganges, Jamuna and Meghna rivers.Deltas of three main rivers, together with many islands,form Bangladesh's coastline on Bay of Bengal.The neighbouring countries are India and Myanmar.Bangladesh Standard Time(BST)is equivalent to Greenwich Mean Time plus 6 hours.The climate is basically tropical and monsoon.It is hot and extremely humid during the summer and mild and dry during the short winter.The average temperature is 19 degrees Celsius from October to March, rising to 29 degrees Celsius between April and September.The rainfall ranges from 125 centimetres in west to 250 centimetres in southeast to 500 centimetres in Sylhet in northeast. Bangladesh is a Republic state and Dhaka is it's capital.
