Police Story starts off explaining the police men's mission: They need to uncover Mr. Koo's crimes, Mr. Koo is a druglord, he deals with drugs and the cops' job is to go undercover and take Mr. Koo to court. Every man had a specific job to do. Jackie Chan plays Kevin. Once the cops read their jobs and dispose of the papers they go to Koo's hideout. When the police are in position they are soon found out, and a shootout begins. What follows is one of the greatest moments in any Chan film. After the shootout is underway, Jackie finds Selena, they also need to bring her to court to testify against Koo. Selena struggles, and soon he has her handcuffed to a car. Jackie gets in a car, once that is done and he chases the druglords down a real shantytown, they smash through the village. When they are down the hill, Koo finds that the road is blocked. They hijack a bus. Jackie grabs an umbrella from a woman and begins to chase the bus. When he catches up with it he leaps towards the bus and hooks onto it with the umbrella, he starts to drag on the ground, he struggles and he pulls himself up onto the bumber of the bus and then latches the umbrella on to a window. The gangsters find that Kevin is on the bus and they try to kick him off. They do succeed and Kevin is kicked off the bus. Kevin runs over a hill, stops a car and reaches for his gun, when the bus aproaches Kevin, he points his gun at the bus then shoots into the air. The bus screeches to a halt and three gangsters are throw out of the windows of the bus. Soon after the incident Chan gets a promotion to a detective and is ordered to look after Selena and to make her confess. Neither Kevin or Selena likes the idea of having to be together. Selena refuses to let Kevin watch after her time and time again. Kevin then makes a great gag by having a friend of his that is also a member of the force (Mars) to pose as a killer and has Kevin save the day. Mars attacks her and Kevin comes in to "save" her. Unfortunatly during the incident Mars gets knocked out. Kevin makes up an excuse so Mars doesn't get killed. He then has Selena come with him after he pretends like he is quitting the job. Along the way Kevin accidentally hits a baby carriage and finds a fake baby, a fights breaks out. On the way home he gets a confession from Selena. When they get home the story intruduces May, Kevins girlfriend. May thinks Selena is Kevin's girlfriend and smashes a cake into his face, later she does it again along with his friend. That night Selena discovers that Mars was faking to be a killer and that Kevin made him do it, what follows is a hilarious scene where she turns on the recorder and makes it sounds like.... well... you know. Selena runs away and the next morning Kevin discovers that she is gone and has to go to court. They get hammered by the lawyer for Koo, and the tape is played and gives the audience the wrong impression. Kevin and May make up, and Kevin goes out to find Selena. Soon you see that Snake Eyes, a fellow cop, is a traitor and put Kevin into a trap. Kevin goes to find Selena, and he falls into a trap. Snake Eyes finds that he is also in a trap because the gangsters came up with the idea of a cop killing another and they kill Snake Eyes. Kevin escapes with Selena and she jumps off a building and Kevin is caught and is knocked out. He wakes up with his gun, with one bullet missing. Kevin goes to the Superintendant and explains that he has lost some memory. The Super books Kevin for murder based on evidence, so Kevin takes the Super hostage. Kevin drops the Super off and then goes out against the gangsters. He waits for the gangsters to go to the mall after Selena because she was getting all of the evidence of Koo's crimes off of his computer. Selena gets chased by the gangsters and Kevin comes in to save Selena and arrest the gangsters. The fight that followed was also nicknamed "Glass Story" because glass was broken right and left through the whole fight. Koo, grabbed the briefcase 3 stories down from where Kevin was. Next Jackie does what some say is his greatest stunt ever. He gets on the railing, and leaps onto a pole 70 feet tall that was wrapped in Chrismas lights. This stunt was very dangerous because the lighting man used real house current to light the Christmas light, Jackie could have been electecuted, all of the skin burned off his hands, ater sliding down the pole he fell through a wooden fence and got up, and walked away from the screen. He then chased the gangsters, and took the briefcase. The Super told him not to punch Koo, or his lawyer. The lawyer then got on Kevin's nerves by telling him that they were going to sue him. Kevin was fed up and punched one man, then the lawyer, and then in a rage, he chased Koo, punches him into a shopping cart, and kicked him into what else but... glass. This film was Jackie Chan's favorite film acting-wise. I really loved this film. You are not a Chan fan until you have seen this film.
I give this film 9 and a half out of 10 stars. It's a must see!
