First Strike is the fourth installment of the Police Story series. This time Jackie's character is no longer Kevin, it's Jackie, but it's still the same character. In this one Jackie is a CIA cop who is needed by the CIA to follow Natasha Rushinski, who is a suspect in a major arms smuggling deal, her partner is a former CIA cop. Jackie first is assigned to go on the plane that Natasha is on and follow her to the Ukraine. He doesn't find much on the plane, but she did go to the bathroom 7 times. When Jackie arrives in the airport, he meets up with Mark, a fellow CIA cop. He tells Jackie that that's all he needed to do and gives him 1 billion HK dollars. Natasha calls someone on a pay phone, but a voice on the other line tells her it's a tap and they hang up. Natasha leaves the airport, and the people tapping the phone realize what happened and they chase after Natasha and put her in a car. Meanwhile, Jackie was going to buy Caviare, which his Uncle Bill wanted. He sees what is happening and tries to tell a Russian man to follow the car Natasha is in. When Jackie sees the cars stopped, he gets out. He spies on Natasha and a man making out. He is wearing a blonde wig. The next scene shows the man go into an underground room, some people greet him and call him "Tzui". Tzui says that their strike saved Natasha. He shows them a case full of money, a passport and a Visa. They thank him. Meanwhile, Jackie gets into the back of a van and soon Natasha and Tzui climbed in the passenger seats and drove. They stop somewhere, and separtate. Tzui goes into a a Russian store. Jackie calls Mark and tells him what happened, he asks where he is and Jackie tries to spell out the name of the Russian store. They find it, and Jackie goes into the store where Tzui went. He gets a snowboard and leaves to follow Tzui. Jackie buys a cute hat with a seal head on top before he goes. He sees the Tzui get on a snowmobile and leave so he tries to rent one. One man yells at him in Russian so Jackie drives away. He catches up to Tzui but stops when he sees a warning sign that signals intruders will be shot. He calls Mark and a man tells him that the sign is just for kids. Jackie tells him where he is heading and leaves. He soon finds a cabin a few miles later, and stops to take a look. He sees Tzui he was following, and his phone began to ring. He quickly dives into the snow to muffle the sound. By now he is freezing and answers the phone, Mark asks where he is. Jackie tells him he is miles west of the restricted area sign. Meanwhile inside the cabin Tzui meets a man, he says his boss is waiting and Tzui sits down to the computer. He talks to a man and types that his check needs three days to clear then he will deliver the shells. One of the people inside the cabinyells that someone is trespassing, they say he's Chinese, and they accuse Tzui of bringing him with him. Mark and the Russian soldiers come to Jackie and the Russians approach the door. Before Tzui had pulled the gun on the men and said that he had a detonater for the uranium core, and he walked out the door. The Russians pointed a gun at him. Jackie saw something in the snow move then saw a man in a white suit rise out of the snow with a machine gun. Jackie yelled "It's a trap!" Then a bunch of men rose out of the snow and began to fire on the Russians, Jackie hit a few. Mark looked at Tzui and knew who he was. Jackie drove the snowmobile, and Tzui and Mark were on the back. The men in white suits were chasing and shooting at them with machine guns. During the chase, Tzui hit Mark off the snowmobile and he went rolling down the hill. Soon Jackie and Tzui broke up and Tzui got away on a snowmobile and Jackie tried top get away on a snowboard. He evntually got straight up and he rode off of a jump and onto a helicopter. When another helicopter came and shot a missle at them, Jackie let go and fell into the icy water below, the other people in the helicopter grabbed the briefcase that Jackie had and they flew away. Jackie woke up in a hospital after he crawled out of the water and passed out. The man that saved him needed him to help them with a mission. He needed Jackie to help them find the person that smuggled the weapons into Austraila. They went into a submarine most of the way to Austrailia, and gave Jackie good clothes and a good hotel. When he gets there, he goes to see the ex-CIA agent Tzui's sister, he finds her at Underwater World and she brings him to the hospital where her father is after he tells her that he and Tzui are sworn brothers. Her father claims that Tzui hadn't come to see him. Jackie says that he is a cop to her father. She was very mad for lying to her and hit him. She later was confronted by Tzui, who had giving her the detonater, and told her to put it in the safest possible place. She then leaves to put it where she thinks it will be safe, she dives underwater (She feeds sharks at underwater wold for a job.) Jackie follows her, and looks in the water. He sees a shark coming at him and he falls over and lands in a different part of the water. He sees the shark coming at him so he scurrys up on the ground just when a seal comes out. Jackie leaves. He finds Tzui's sister and shoots a detection device onto her car. He begins to sing "I Will Follow You" and Tzui comes up to his car and points a gun at him and tells him to keep singing. He also tells him to take his clothes off, until he is down to his koala underwear, Tzui has him take that off too. Jackie is still singing when a group of tourists pass by, then they come back for another look and take pictures. A dog also comes up to him and it's owner. Tzui finally finishes, he found taps in his clothes so that the Russians could listen to him. Jackie and Tzui sat down, and Tzui had Jackie call his new boss. When he answered Tzui took the phone and told him he wanted double the money he asked for before. Jackie, now wearing a penguin suit, confronted the Russians and asked them why they put the bugs in his clothes, they said that they needed to look out for him. Jackie didn't buy it, and left. When he got back to the hotel one giant man and one other smaller man pushed Jackie and threw him around, playing around with him until they wanted to literally destroy him. But the acrobatic Jackie wasn't going to go down easy, and a great fast paced fight began. In the fight Jackie runs, jumps, flips, and outsmarts the men to get away. Until they pulled out their guns. Jackie did some very dangerous things on the building like falling onto very thin concrete outside the hotel's windows. One woman taking a bath thinks someone knocked on the door and went to see who it was. Jackie crawled through the window claiming he was a window washer, then he said he was a dry-cleaner to the womans husband. He took an outfit with him. Jackie then looked for a place to sleep, he was short on cash and didn't have a place to stay, so he slept on the street. the next day when he was getting change he saw something on TV that Tzui's father had died, and the news reporters said that Jackie was the killer. He went to Tzui's sister and told her that he didn't kill her father. Tzui's brother was going to call the cops but they decided that they'd teach him a lesson first. A very fast-paced fight breaks out. Jackie dodges stick and kicks and fists non-stop. He does some amazing fighting with a ladder. After the fight with the ladder a hundred other men with sticks came and Jackie gave up. At that moment Tzui came through the door and said Jackie didn't kill their father. Tzui brought Jackie to his room and confessed that he had killed his father for the money. Tzui's sister was very angry with him. Later a funeral for Tzui's father took place in Chinatown. They all had a plan. The coffin that was supposed to hold Tzui's father opened during the funeral and Tzui came out of it. He yelled at his boss and pointed a gun at him. A sharp-shooter on top of a building shot the gun out of Tzui's hand. Jackie, had a white umbrella and was dressed up on stilts yelled "OPEN!" and all of the other people on stilts opened up their umbrella's, so that the sharp-shooter couldn't see. Tzui's boss told him that his sister was being held hostage, Jackie looked around and saw her. He went over to her, she was one story above him, and he kicked one man with his stilt and helped tzui's sister down. She ran to Tzui, when he saw her and hit his boss and told his sister to run. She was caught by some men and was dragged away. Jackie chased them into a mall and eventually got her back. A car came speeding at him so he put her on top of an elevator and was hit by the car, it knocked off his stilts but didn't do too much damage. Two security guards helped Tzui's sister off the elevator and Jackie came to get her. They said that they needed to file a report first. Jackie pushed them into the elevator and pretended he had a gun. He took off some of the long dress he was wearing and ran with her. They soon ended up at Underwater World, because Tzui's sister needed the detonater. She dove down with an airtank, and when Jackie got there he was stopped by the mob. Jackie didn't have time to get an airtank, so he only had goggles. A fight under water broke out, and every once and a while he would take someones air tank to get air. Once Jackie had beaten up some of them and some got eaten by the giant shark, the mob shot a shotgun bullet into the giant aquairum. Water and fish rushed out of it and Jackie and Tzui's sister did too. Tzui's sister was taken away by the mob and Jackie went after them. He had to go through rushing water and got just beaten by the water coming at him just a few feet away. He chased them as fast as he could. He saw them on a boat and then he hitched a car, and drove off a jump and crashed into the boat, crushing the mob. He got back the detonator, and Tzui's sister. He was stopped by helicopters, and was thanked by the Russian army for bringing in the Mafia.
This movie probably wasn't as good as the other Police Story movies, but it was good. One thing missing was Maggie Cheung, who was in every other Police Story movie except this one, who played Chan's girlfriend. it did have a few good fights, and an OK plot. So I give this movie an 8.5 out of 10 rating.
